Today is your first day in class. Look around you. Look at the new cJass, new
classmates, new teacher, and new environment. How do you feel? Do you know your teacher
yet? Do you know your classmates? It's a good time to start new friendships, and the first
thing to do is to introduce yourseJf to your new classmates and your teacher. In this lesson,
you will learn how to do that.

information in the form to introduce yourself to your new classmates.

When you meet a friend, you should greet him or her. When you meet a person for the
first time, you should also greet him or her. Often you also need to introduce yourself to this
person.

- Good evening - Good evening (from about 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.)
• Forms of address
When you talk to a person in English, sometimes you have to use formal language.
When you are talking to someone you do not know well, or someone older than you are, you
use Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Miss, followed by the family or last name. Here is how you do it:
