What particular strengths has the intern exhibited?

I have been very impressed with Simi’s professionalism and the manner in which she
presents herself to all she encounters. She has been in multiple meetings with
members of our executive team, including a one-on-one with our President/CEO. Simi
always comes prepared, and asks thoughtful and articulate questions. Her
intelligence, motivation and natural leadership skills have been clearly demonstrated
in the work she has been doing. In my 20+ years in Healthcare, I have worked with
many experienced professionals who do not perform or carry themselves nearly as
well as Simi does.

Are there any specific skills that the intern needs to improve immediately? If yes, please
explain.

I have no recommendations for skill improvements at this time. Simi is doing an

excellent job and we are very fortunate to have her.
In reflecting on the student’s Learning Contract what are the 1-3 things she most needs to
focus on for the rest of the internship in order to meet her goals?

Goals:
• Learn the language/terminology in a healthcare setting
o Simi will benefit from continuing to focus on and expand her
understanding of nomenclature used in the healthcare setting from both
an administrative/operational and a medical perspective.
• Learn about areas in healthcare that may need improvement
o Simi will spend some time in the coming weeks shadowing in different
areas of the hospital to broaden her experience in different environments
within the healthcare system.
• Gain more experience in Healthcare Finance
o Simi has expressed interest in learning more about how the health
system’s finance division functions. Spending some time learning from
finance leaders within the system will be a priority before her internship
is complete.
