Rosenthal and Jacobson (1968) informed classroom teachers that some of their
students showed unusual potential for intellectual gains. Eight months later the students
identified to teachers as having potentional for unusual intellectual gains showed significiantly
greater gains performance on a test said to measure IQ than did children who were not so
identified. Below are the data for the students in the first grade:
The score for those students on the second exam was recorded.
The summary statistics for the grades of each row are shown in the table below
A chemical engineer is studying the effects of various reagents and catalysts on the yield
of a certain process. There is a combination among three reagents and four catalysts. The
results are presented below:
Catalyst Reagent
1 2 3
A 84.85 89.13 85.28
B 75.35 79.40 84.65
C 70.30 76.65 78.20
D 73.18 81.10 77.23

catalyst (Treatments) and reagent (blocks) are all differences at α=0.01?
