 Receives baby with sterile towel and placed on mother’s chest for skin to skin
contact.
 Clamps and cuts umbilical cord aseptically.
 Performs BP monitoring and administers medication as ordered.
 Records the date and time of delivery and placental expulsion .
 Take the birth weight, body temperature and the anthropometric measurements of
the newborn.
 Assists physician in suturing perineal lacerations.
 Performs after care to the patient and the area as well.
