sleep, nutrition, and exercise in our community and

Productivity Affected by Sleep?

Sleep may seem like the most unproductive
part of each day, but it is actually then when
your body is correcting chemical
imbalances, assuring proper blood sugar
levels, making new connections, building
memories, and healing/correcting blood
vessels. Missing sleep causes waking hours
to be less productive and can result in long-
term effects. Disrupting your sleep cycle
could result in sleep deprivation.

Follow-up Report

September 17, 2018

Elisa Stone, Professor

Salt Lake Community College
English 2100 – Technical Writing

RE: Follow-up Report for Project One

Dear Professor Stone:

I am writing this follow up letter to inform you that I’ve acted upon this concern of
increasing productivity. In doing so, I’ve printed copies of the created brochure and
passed them out to my co-workers and class members. I explained to them my goal for
community change and assured them my purpose - primarily to raise awareness and
express the importance. I invited them to further assist me in raising awareness to our
community by assuring that friends and family members are getting the proper amount of
sleep, nutrition, exercise, and inform them of the effects it has on productivity.
Furthermore, I will continue to educate the health effects on productivity to others.

While doing this project, I concluded that sleep, dieting, and exercise all depend upon
one another when trying to accomplish the other. I also recognize that sleep, nutrition,
and exercise are not the only ways to increasing productivity, but they merely act as the
primary motives to being productive and assist in developing the right mind-set.

Doing research for this project mainly helped me to realize the importance of getting an
adequate amount of sleep. Before this project I was aware that not getting enough sleep
could make you tired and less productive but now I recognize the long-term effects of
sleep deprivation on the body as well as the toll it has on the mind.

As a student and employee, I will play my part in our community by using this
knowledge to be more productive in my job as well as my schooling.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Larsen
