No one can get past the
Royal League

ZIEHL-ABEGG stands for movement by perfection in the

ventilation technology, control technology and drive

technology sectors for more than 100 years. What started

with the invention of the first external rotor motor by

Emil Ziehl is now being carried on at the company’s sites

around the world. We are the pioneers, masterminds and

developers of future technologies which more than satisfy

all demands to preserve an environment worth living in and

to meet all our customers’ requirements and wishes.

Think ahead to the future – discover ZIEHL-ABEGG

We look forward to seeing you in ventilation, control and

drive technologies. Where ideas are the daily challenge

and the latest, outstanding technologies are developed.

Our unique selling point – your advantage

What is important to us is to correctly match our systems

to your exact needs. Be it refrigeration, air conditioning, use

in manufacturing processes or anywhere else – we relia-

bly move air wherever it is required and at the right time.

At the headquarters in Künzelsau more than 100 engi-

neers and technicians work in one of the most modern

technology centers of this kind.

We supply the highest quality standards with the

world‘s largest air and noise testbench for fans,

which can completely mask vibrations and external

noises. This guarantees fan measurements of the high-

est class according to ISO and DIN. This is the reason

ZIEHL-ABEGG products with the Premium Quality and

Premium Efficiency are certified – that is the reason

our products and services are in the Royal League.

ECblue
The new economic solution
Ingeniously simple functionality

Compact, cutting-edge technology, user-friendly and simple

– these are the main criteria we set for the development of
the ECblue series. Meet ECblue yourself and be convinced
by the results.

Maximum efficiency – Minimum power consumption

Today, saving energy is more important than ever. Energy

costs are exploding; the global climate is changing. Fans
with ECblue technology will help lower your operating costs.
The environment can also benefit from the low power con-
sumption of the ECblue fans – after all, the cleanest energy
is the energy that doesn’t need to be generated in the first
place!

You can rely on it

Dependability and reliability are the basic prerequisites for

a quality product from ZIEHL-ABEGG. So the new ECblue
energy-saving motors were tested under extreme condi-
tions. Whether they were exposed to shock or vibration
tests, constant loads under extreme temperatures or salt-
fog tests – the ECblue fans passed all the tests brilliantly.
We are 100% convinced of the reliability of the ECblue fans.

ECblue – Ef f icient
Presently, saving energy is more important than ever. Energy
costs are exploding; the global climate is changing. Fans with
ECblue technology will help lower your operating costs. The envi-
ronment can also benefit from the low power consumption of
ECblue fans – after all, the cleanest energy is the energy that
doesn’t need to be generated in the first place!

In 2005 the European Union passed the EuP Directive (Energy

using Products Directive), which was replaced in 2009 by the
ErP Directive (Energy related Products Directive). With this
directive the scope was enlarged from energy driven to energy
relevant products.

The goal of the directive: Increase energy efficiency to preserve

our environment. The ECblue are already exceeding the effici-
ency criteria set out in the ErP 2015 Directive.

Status LED
Ser vice friendly
I t shows you the status, 24 hours a day - 7 days a week!

An integrated LED, visible through the translucent cover on the

ECblue motors, constantly indicates the operating condition of
the fans. This means you can always see the operating status.
The time-consuming connection of a terminal to check the sta-
tus of the EC fans can be omitted. Various flash codes indicate
the current operating condition of the ECblue fans.

How can a speed controlled f an help you
to increase your system ef f iciency?
Calculation example

5 0% Air f low is needed in a 10 fan condenser ar ray, shut Basic datas:

down 5 fans
1 fan has a power c onsumption of 1 kW at 10 0%
Shut ting down 5 fans leads to a power c onsumption of 5 kW Law of power c onsumption dependent on speed
P = (5 * 1 kW ) + (5 * 0 kW ) = 5 kW

Reduce all fans to 5 0% n 3

The reduction of the fans leads to a power consumption of 1,25 kW

n
P = (10 kW / (10 0 0 r pm/50 0 r pm) ³) = (10 kW/8) = 1, 25 kW P1 = 10 kW; n1 = 10 0 0 r pm; n2 = 50 0 r pm

75% lower power consumption!
