To Whom It May Concern:

Arianna Barragan Johnson was my student during her 10 week psychiatric/mental health
nursing clinical rotation last semester. As a clinical instructor/lecturer with fifty years experience
in various psych nursing areas, I have a unique opportunity to become acquainted with my
students as individuals. Since they're learning to use their own personalities as a therapeutic
tool, I try to help them get to know themselves more in depth and as members of a team on our
four unit inpatient facility. During our psych rotation, they also experience working with older
adults, pediatric therapy services, and intensive adult outpatient services. My goal for them is to
practice interpersonal relationship skills that can be generalized and applied to any nursing
endeavor they choose.

After I got to know Arianna, I would tease her about her impressive name. Then I realized her
name fits her perfectly - very impressive! Just review her resume - full of meaningful
educational, vocational, and volunteer experiences. Arianna is just the kind of outstanding
nurse of the future the world needs - a global citizen with a sincere interest in philanthropy -
making the lives of all ages of all people better. Because of her maturity, poise, and warm
heart, Arianna stands out among her peers. She attributes her gentle and, may I daresay - her
genteel nature to the old school influences of her grandparents. What a wonderful combination
of personal characteristics she offers to any healthcare organization - including a truly scholarly
approach to acute care settings.

Now the usual (but true) description of the strengths and attributes that Arianna will bring to your
organization: 1) a broad and in depth nursing knowledge base; 2) highly developed
technical/technology abilities; 3) excellent verbal/written communication skills and finally; 4) an
appreciation of the value of the continued application of evidenced-based nursing practice

When you interview Arianna, she may seem somewhat reticent at first, but soon, she will
impress you with her innate sweetness and core strength. Arianna will look you straight in the
eye and articulate her vision of her future career. She will be an investment in your future too,
because she is one of those leaders who leads by example - a steady hand in the midst of an
emerging crisis. Get Arianna on board your team as soon as possible. You'll be glad you did!

Sincerely,

Susan Markovich, RN, MSN
