Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I put forth this letter to you in hopes of gaining the approval of your august body in the
matter of my senior portfolio. Much as I have enjoyed my time here at Buckingham Charter
Magnet High School, I have, at this point in time, extracted all significant benefit from this
institution. My experiences both educational and social at Buckingham have inspired me towards
a career in computer science and it is with this goal in mind that I solicit your approval.
In preparation for my future, I have engaged in various college level courses, one of
which was specifically focused on computer science. In addition, I have also partaken in summer
programs intended to further one's education and prepare oneself for adulthood. Chief amongst
these was Boys State, a prestigious statewide program which accepts only the most academically
accomplished students to partake in a simulated government experience. I have been presented
the Presidential High Honors Award in both my sophomore and junior years, as well as a
certificate acknowledging my contributions to the Buckingham robotics team. My time on the
Buckingham robotics team has allowed me the opportunity to practice my chosen career and has
provided me practice in group collaboration and leadership.
Following my graduation, I will be attending college. Ideally I would attend college on
the East Coast, specifically at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, but I will be attending college
regardless of my acceptance. I will be pursuing a masters degree in computer science as well as a
career later on in the same field. To accomplish this, I will be and have been applying to various
colleges specializing in computer science. I will also be applying to scholarships annually to
fund my continued scholastic journey, bolstered by a permanent job in or around my college of
choice. To further make this vision a reality, I will be continuing my studies independently to
ensure success in my chosen college course and furthermore, vocation.

approval of and any further evaluation you may have for me. Please consider my portfolio, I
fervently await my graduation and the entrance to the next phase of my life.
