IV. CURRENT POSITION
 Training, external relations and societal advertisement manager at
PROHISTRA
 Scope of work

Plan, organize, assess and develop supporting strategic activities for the fulfillment
of PROHISTRA mission, promote and operationalize its training strategy, internal and
external institutional image, adding ethical value, stability and sustainability.
Tasks and responsibilities

1. Develop and operationalize training strategies, corporate communication;


2. Contribute to the definition of a training strategy in permanent conformity with
the business unities;
3. Support commercial actions on services and products;
4. Update the market tendencies and good practices, identify and analyze
opportunities;
5. Monitor the satisfaction level of internal clients;
6. Manage contents, communications channels an internal information;
7. Promote good management and relations articulations, including approaching
models and assistance to the new customers as per the 9000.1 quality
management policy;
8. Produce contents for different areas of the enterprise scope of work.

 Other relevant responsibilities


1. Annual budgeting, planning of the department activities, benchmarking on the
existing technical and human resources available, accompanying and
controlling its evolution, identifying possible deviations with the real and
foreseen, taking corrective measurements needed so that goals are met.
2. Ensuring data collection, consolidation, analyses and reporting of key indicators
of the area, proposing concrete actions if justifiable, assuring production and
timely information disposition for the decision making.
3. Manage human resources falling under your responsibility, including the
definition of responsibilities, priorities, training and recruitment needs,
performance and career management, aiming the adequation of the structure
to the area needs, and assure alignment, motivation, and team work.

VII. SUITABILITY TO THE POSITION, RELEVANT CAPACITIES,
COMPETENCIES, GENERAL AND SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

Uiliamo Muchanga started his professional career at FAWE (forum for African
women educationalist) doing interpretation and translation around 2004. Later
on, from 2006 actively collaborated with terminal de carvao da Matola, having
begun his ten years collaboration with the company at the department of industrial
maintenance, as semi-skilled artisan. By the year 2008 joined a team responsible on
refurbishing tipplers which are mechanical devices used to tip loaded wagon onto
different conveyors transporting the load to parking bins. By that time had the
position of team leader during twelve months’ time. Having performed pretty well
on his duties, Uiliamo Muchanga is appointed to assist the belting sector coordinator
on modernizing the conveyor system. After some time he is transferred to
stevedoring department after maintenance services were outsourced. Holding the
position of foreman, Uiliamo Muchanga during a period of three years, helped the
department on adopting good practices internationally acclaimed on such activities
by suggesting and helping on implementation of signaling system to better the
communication between ship loaders operators and foremen on board of loading
vessels.
With the support of his experience and abnegation, Uiliamo Muchanga is
promoted to the position of operational superintendent at GML, a project aiming at
installing a coal terminal at Maputo harbor, championing the very first activities,
from 2012 to 2015. During this period is involved in many operational and
administrative tasks, from contractor’s management to assuring a safe work
environment and maximization of loading rates and cost effective operations. The
highlight, however, should go to a group project called Gold Project, a talent
development program, and the implementation of quality, environment
management systems,

Uiliamo Muchanga championed the creation of the training and development


department, comprising all business unities of Grindrod terminals in Mozambique,
where with great success could provide accordingly all training needs of the group
in Mozambique. Uiliamo Muchanga championed the first talent development
program for only Mozambican candidates within Grindrod Corporate Social
Responsibility, with different trainees from different corners of the country, and
different trainings on technical training background. Uiliamo Muchanga worked as
advisor to the national SHERQ manager, on the implementation of ISO policies,
consisting on identifying changements, registering, and risk assessment, done with
different stakeholders of different business unities, reporting, and changements
implementation (Management of Change).

Uiliamo Muchanga is co-founder of PROHISTRA, with the position of Training,


external relations and societal advertisement Manager during 2016, 2018. Uiliamo
Muchanga is founding member of AMVAT (Mozambican association for aiding victims
of work accidents).

During 2012 to 2016, Uiliamo Muchanga held the position of public relations
coordinator at Fundação Contos para o Mundo, and department chief for the
collecting of traditional stories to the communities of Matola, Katembe, Kanyaka,
cumulatively acted as senior cultural advisor to the COO of the aforesaid

foundation, on traditional songs and stories.
