FIRST DAY:  Read the notes and Scripture references.
1. What from the lecture did you find applicable to your life? How were you able to apply it?

2. What personal help did you receive from the notes?

SECOND DAY:  Read John 10:1-6.


3. a. John 10:1-6 can be described as a contrast between false shepherds and the true shepherd. Recalling the people
in chapter 9, who were the thieves who entered the sheep pen by a way other than the gate? The true shepherd?
The true shepherd’s sheep?

b. How do Jesus’ words in these verses apply to all people?

4. a. What characteristics distinguish the sheep who belong to the true shepherd?

b. How have you heard the true Shepherd’s voice this year and followed Him?

THIRD DAY:  Read John 10:1-13 and Ezekiel 34:1-16, 30-31.


5. a. Compare the false shepherds in Ezekiel and John. List the similarities you find.

b. What did the Lord promise His people in Ezekiel 34?

6. What did Jesus mean when He said He is the gate for the sheep and those who enter through Him will be saved?

7. a. What can you do to avoid being fooled by false shepherds?

b. How has Jesus personally given you “life to the full”?

FOURTH DAY: Read John 10:11-21.


  8. What did Jesus say He would do as the “Good Shepherd,” to what event does this refer, and what is your response
to this?

  9. What did Jesus mean when He spoke of “other sheep not of this sheep pen,” and how could you apply this to your
family, community or workplace? (See Ephesians 2:11-22.)

10. What would you conclude about Jesus and His identity from His words in John 10:17-18?

FIFTH DAY: Read John 10:22-42.


11. What did Jesus say testified about Him, and what was the reason the Jews did not believe Him?

12. What did Jesus say He gives His sheep and why? What difference does this truth make in your life?

13. What is the opposition’s reaction to Jesus’ teaching and how do you see similar reactions today? How does Jesus
show us to respond?

SIXTH DAY: Review John 10.


14. How are you strengthened by Jesus’ teaching from John 10? How could your group pray for you to live as His
“sheep” who hears His voice and follows Him?
