NARRATIVE REPORT
Environment is everything that makes up our surroundings. Over the years, the environment

has been changing. There are many issues and problems that our environment is facing right now.

One of the issues is the environmental waste disposal. Disposing of waste has huge environmental

impacts and can cause serious problems.

Our barangay is surrounded by a river and sea. One of the main problems in our community is

the improper waste disposal. Mrs. De Guzman, the one that I have interviewed and a resident of our

barangay, said that our community is now facing some environmental issues such as the improper

segration of wastes and garbages. She also said that the reasons why people have been

malpracticing the proper segration of wastes are residents have lack of knowledge and discipline in

proper waste disposal because some people throwing their trashes in the river. And also, our

barangay doesn’t have enough compost pit, trash cans, and garbage collectors have lack of time in

collecting wastes in our area.

I found out that this issue can implicate some health problems in our barangay, especially to

the children who wanted to swim in the river and sea. Mrs. De Guzman said that to decrease health

problems and to improve proper waste disposal in our barangay, people should undergo more

training on proper waste disposal, like having seminar. Barangay officials should also take necessary

actions in our community to make its people more responsible and discipline when it comes to waste

management.
