● Students will be able to correctly identify shapes.
● Students will be able to correctly identify colors.

6. Instructional Procedures
Introduction
1. Students will view a song on YouTube that goes through the shapes, their names, and
colors.

2. Students will review the colors with the YouTube video

Developmental
1. Students will be given playdough and asked to manipulate the playdough to match Mrs.
Rees’ shapes. The shape will be modeled for the student’s and they must manipulate the
playdough to match my shape. We will identify the shape together. While forming
shapes, I will self-talk throughout the process and ask questions
a. Ask students to identify their color playdough; if the student is unable to answer
ask for peer support
b. Ask students to identify their friends color playdough
c. Ask students how many sides the particular shape has
d. Ask students to identify the shape- focus on the phonics aspect of this question
and identifying the shape correctly.

Conclusion
2. Students will be given worksheets to practice tracing the shape on their own.

b. Teacher and para will help students who need hand-over-hand assistance in
tracing.
c. Students who need an incline tabletop for wrist extension (OT) will be provided
with one.

7. Addressing Learners’ Diverse Needs


● Lesson plan was adapted to meet grade level for students
● Students use their residual hearing with hearing aids and cochlear implants. FM systems
are used to amplify spoken language.
● A lot of visuals and modeling are incorporated in all lessons and activities
● Students who need additional support will have access to 1-on-1 instruction review with
teacher and/or parapro.

8. Formative/Summative Assessment
● Formative- Playdough activity, tracing activity
● Summative- The teacher and para will ask students to independently draw the shape on
their own. For students who are unable to draw shape on their own, they must verbally
identify the shape or mold the shape using playdough.
