Introduction

We all want to give our loved ones every luxury they deserve, the most important being
healthcare. And the sense of responsibility we feel when it comes to our parents and other
senior relatives can be overwhelming, particularly when they stay away from us.
But in this age of nuclear families and work that often takes us places, we sometimes
wonder if we are giving our senior relatives adequate care and attention…At the same time,
increasingly, our parents prefer to be independence and do not want to compromise their
lifestyle in order to fit themselves into our lives.
At Medi Assist, we value their independence; but we value their health above everything
else. And so we created a unique senior care program which ensures that they receive the
care and attention they deserve.

Who is eligible?

All IBM India employees can avail the services for their parents and parents in law. This
program is co-sponsored by IBM.

Program Details

The following are the four services made available to beneficiaries of this program

Travel & Escorting to Medical centre


An escort from Medi Assist would make travel arrangements to pick the seniors from home,
accompany them to the preferred medical centre, liaison with medical centre staff to
complete their tests/ consultations comfortably and also ensure that they are dropped back
home safely. This service can be arranged for a period of 5 to 8 hours.

Home Health Aides


Medi Assist would liaison to arrange for trained home health attendant to aid the seniors to
provide holistic support in their day to day activities. They can help them with personal
grooming, movement, feeding, and monitor basic vitals like blood pressure. This service can
be arranged for a period of 4, 8 or 12 hours.

Home Nurse Visit


Medi Assist would liaison to arrange for home visits of qualified and trained nurses to
vaccinate seniors and help them stay away from infectious diseases. Administration of
injections or intravenous fluids also requires much care and attention and we facilitate to
provide efficient nurses to assist your seniors.

Home Sample Collection


In this service, Medi Assist would liaison to arrange for qualified and trained phlebotomists
to get the lab examination (regular or prescribed diagnostics) done at the comfort of your
home. We would also deliver the hard copy your reports.

How to avail?

These services can be availed by following the simple step-by-step procedure given below:
1) Log in to Medi Assist Integrated web portal (IWP) with your employee credentials.
2) Select Senior care program.
3) Choose the service[s] you wish to avail for your parents/ parents-in laws.
4) Add your beneficiary if you don’t find them listed in the portal.
5) Make subsidized payment.
6) Receive confirmation of the service as per the request raised.

1. What is a Senior Care Program and how does it influence us?

they can enjoy these golden years of their life to the fullest. It gives them the extra
attention and the comfort that they deserve and a sense of satisfaction and

2. What are all the facilities/ services available under this senior care program?

4. Why is the program termed as co-sponsored?


IBM partly sponsors the services to ensure that you can avail the services at subsidized
cost for their beneficiaries.

5. How many times can these services be availed?

Each of these services can be availed at subsidized cost 6 times in a year; however
you can continue to avail these services if you would have an additional requirement
by paying the actuals.
6. Who can opt for these services?

7. How can I avail the services?

You can avail these services for your beneficiaries through the Medi Assist portal.
Please refer to the section on availing services to download the User manual which
would give you step by step guidelines to avail the services.

8. Are there any pre-requisites for availing these services?

Please ensure you have booked your appointment at the Medical centre for Travel &
Escorting services. For Home Health Aides services please ensure you select the
period accurately before you place the request, as extension on ad-hoc basis for
service continuation cannot be committed. For Home Nurse visit for shots /injections
please ensure you have the vaccinations/injections purchased and also you’re your
prescription.

9. In which cities can I avail these services?

This program is available across PAN India: Please refer to the section on locations
for details.

10. If I am out of country and have no access to the portal but require a service as an
emergency. How can you help me?

You can reach us through our Contact channels i.e. 1860 425 2628 or
seniorcare@mahs.in , Medi Assist can facilitate them in booking the service
requests. It would also help if the local contact details are informed to us to ensure
smooth service booking and delivery.
11. How early do I need to raise an appointment?

We would require 2 days advance notice to process your requests.

12. Are there any exclusions for the fee paid for the services?

The following exclusions are applied to the service particulars:

Travel & Escorting to Expenses at the Medical centre are excluded and would

Home Nurse Visit The vaccinations/ injections would have to be procured


by the beneficiary.
Home Sample Cost of any additional tests which are not requested at

13. Are the services available 24*7?

No, the services can be availed from Mon to Sat, between 8am to 8pm.

14. Is my medical information kept private?

Yes, all your health information is kept private and confidential and would not be
referred/ disclosed without your consent.

15. Can I avail these services for my relatives?

No, this facility is available only for medical enrolled beneficiaries’ i.e. Parents and
Parents in law can avail these services.

16. Can I reschedule/cancel the services?

Yes, you can reschedule/ cancel the services through the portal 24 hours ahead.

17. How many times can I reschedule my booked requests?

You may reschedule the booked requests through the portal maximum 3 times.
