Report on Celebration of Surgical Strike Day

Date: - 29/09/2018

29th Sep 2018 is the second anniversary of the Indian Army's strike against
terrorists operating across the Line of Control in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. On
September 29 in 2016, the Indian Army carried out “surgical strikes” on seven
terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control as a response to an attack on
its base in Uri earlier that month. The army had said its special forces inflicted
“significant casualties” on terrorists waiting there to cross onto the Indian
Territory.
According to Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash
Javadekar, the idea of celebrating this day is to encourage students to
remember the armed forces.
As per UGC Letter No D.O.No.F.14-15/2018 (CPP-II) on dated 19/09/2018 we
have successfully celebrated the surgical strike day on 29 Sep 2018 in college
campus. Retired Caption Jaluram from Indian Army sensitized the students and
encouraged them to sacrifice for the Nation. He also worked as Vice Chairman
Shri Jatashankarji and Dr Sumer Nunia has welcomed to Speaker. They also
motivated the students and told them to salute our brave soldiers who are
always ready to protect the country.
