I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the pupils are expected to:
a. Use greeting and leave-taking expressions in appropriate situations.
b. Respond accurately to one-step oral directions.
c. Note similarities and differences in pictures.
d. Draw different patterns of line forms.
II. Subject Matter
a. Greetings: Good morning, good afternoon.
b. Leave-taking: Goodbye
c. One-step directions: Stand, sit down, jump, clap.

IV. Procedure
A. Greetings
The teacher will present a picture showing a classroom scene with
the teacher and pupils greeting each other.
The teacher will tell the class that they’ll act out the situation.
The teacher will greet the class by groups, rows, and individual
pupils.
The teacher will have the pupils go through real life situation.
Example: A pupil greets a teacher along the corridor.
The teacher will present a “Good afternoon” scene to the class
and repeat the procedure.
B. Leave-taking
The teacher will show a picture of scene where pupils are about to
go home.
The teacher will go through the dialogue again by substituting real
names of students and teachers.
C. Following one-step directions
The teacher will tell the class to stand up, sit down, clap, sing, make
a straight line.
The teacher will ask the pupils to prepare their things and form a
line.
D. Differences in pictures
The teacher will show a replicas of an object in class.
Example:
This is an atis.
This is another atis.
These two are the same.
The teacher will show a picture of two different objects that are
different.
Example:
This is an atis.
This is a mango.
These two are different.
E. Draw the different patterns of line forms
The teacher will show a model of different line using broken lines
that are to be connected.
The teacher will ask the pupils to connect the lines.
The teacher will tell the name of the line if it is a vertical, horizontal,
slant or circular.
V. Evaluation
A. Oral
The teacher will ask the pupils to act out the instructions given to
them.
The teacher will distribute a tests and ask the pupils to answer the
question.
The teacher will ask the pupils to draw a:
a. Vertical line
b. Horizontal line
c. Slant line

IV. Procedure
The teacher will first read a short story
Short story:
The teacher will teach what is a verb, linking verbs, verb tenses, simple
past tense, regulaar verbs
The teacher will give some of the examples of the following:
- Linking verbs (is, am, was, were)
- Verb tenses: Simple past tense (Before, yesterday, ago)
- Reugalar verbs: by adding –d or –ed
- Irregular verbs (hurt, set, cut
Some changes their vowels (wake-woke, sit-sat, sing- song)
V. Evaluation
The techer will give a test on correct spelling of past tense of each
verb. (1-15 points)
The teacher will give a sentense ad let the pupils use/write the past
tense form of the verb in parenthesis. (1-10 points)

Write a sentense using the past tense of each of the following verbs.

- speak
