1.1 Introduction
Thank you for purchasing our Report Generator Program (NS9200LT). Please read this manual before
operating the program. This manual provides the information necessary to operate the Report Generator
Lite. If you encounter any problems in the manual, please contact our sales representative.
Note

2.1 Contents

It is installation CD-ROM to install this program.
3.2 Cautions
1. To operate the Report Generator Lite, observe the operating conditions of the PC under the proper
operating environment.
2. The master disk of the Report Generator Lite should be stored with care. Avoid improper storage
environment where exposed to harsh temperature/humidity, direct sunlight, and dust. (0-40degC,
< 85%)
3. Whatever reason, no part of Report Generator Lite may be reproduced, copied, transferred, and
sold.
4. For purchased devices other than the Report Generator Lite, follow the warnings described in their
respective devices. For the products manufactured or sold other than NEC Avio Infrared
Technologies Co., Ltd., follow the description and conditions of their respective manufacturers and
sales agencies.
5. NEC Avio Infrared Technologies Co., Ltd. does not assume any responsibility for results due to

4.1 How to Install
Note [Attention]
When setting up, Administrator authority with a certain
user name login, or, Administrator from obtaining
permission, please execute setup.
Operation

see the hard disk or REMOVABLE contents.

(2) CD of “NS9200LT Report Generator Lite” is inserted in CD-ROM drive.

Since a message as shown in the following figure is displayed when, as for the cases other than
the authority of Administrator, the authority of the user at the time of login double-clicks

(7) The [Select Installation Folder] screen appears for specifying the folder for installing the program.
The target drive for installation is the Windows drive as the default. To change the drive, click
[Browse…] button. You can change the folder. If changes are unnecessary, click the [Next (N)]
button.
If the name of the folder for installation includes two-byte characters, faulty
operations may result. It is, therefore, strongly recommended to install the
Note program under the default setting or using only one-byte characters for the
folder name.
(8) If the following "next" button is pushed, since the dialog which checks the start of installation of the
following figure will be displayed, a "Next" button is pushed when you may start.

(9) After the installation of this program completed, the Setup completion screen appears. Then, click the
[Finish] button to finish the setup program.

5.1 Program uninstalling
This section explains how to uninstall this program.
Operation
(2) Place the mouse on Settings and move rightward (in Windows2000).
(3) Select and click Control Panel.

(4) The Control Panel screen appears. Double-click Add/Remove Programs

this item.

(6) A screen for confirmation appears. Click the [Yes] button in this screen.
Place the mouse pointer on [Program] in the Start menu and click [Report
Generator Lite] in [NEC_Avio], then the Report Generator Lite starts.
Operation
Double-clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop start up the Report Generator Lite.

7.1 Menu Structure
The Report Generator Lite menu bar structure and functions are as follows.
1.Thermal Image
Open: Replays one thermal image
Open Files: Replays more than one thermal image
Save: Saves by overwriting the current state
Save as: Saves the current state with a different name
Print: The present picture by which it is indicated by the preview
window is printed.
Print setting: It sets the printer which it prints.
Send E-mail: Send E-mail
Exit: Exits the Report Generator Lite
2.Edit
cut: Cut the selected file.
copy: Copy the selected file.
paste: Paste the copied file.
Image copy: A display image is copied.(Thermal only, Thermal with color bar,
Thermal with measurement condition)
Save image file: Saving in BMP or JPEG format (one picture by a operation)
Save thermal image: Saves only thermal image in BMP or JPEG format
Save thermal image with color bar: Saves the image in BMP or JPEG format
with a color bar.
Save thermal image with measurement condition: Saves the image in BMP or
JPEG format with measurement condition.
3.View
Tool Bar: Switches Show or Hide of tool bar
Status Bar: Switches Show or Hide of status bar
Update Folder: Updates to the folder information to the newest state
New Folder: Creates a new folder in the focused directory/folder

5.Object
Add Object:
POINT: Add the One POINT.
BOX: Add the One BOX.
Delete Object:
All Objects: Delete All Objects.
All Points: Delete All Points.
All Boxes: Delete All Boxes.
6.Graph
Trend: Display the time series data of the selection object.
(The time series data is made in order of the page of
the thermal image that is opening now.)
7.Option
Save continuously: Saves several images in BMP or JPEG file all at once
Level/Sense hold: Holds current Level and Sense setting
Environment: Sets temporary folder for saving thermal image files
The contents of a trend graphical representation are set up.

8.1 Names and Functions
Functional name and that function of the report generator become as follows.
Function
(1) Main image display window
This window displays a thermal image and a visual image appended to the thermal image.
The image is displayed when a thermal image is opened from the Thermal Image menu or
double-clicking is made at the Image preview window.

(4) Status bar
Menu bar status is indicated. “Hide” or “Show” in Status bar in the [View] menu can be switched.
* A check mark is indicated while the status is in “Show.”
Moreover, when moving a mouse cursor on a thermal image, the coordinates value and temperature value
of a position of a mouse cursor are displayed on the program lower right.

(6) Controller
By the controller, a setup of Level & Span and a Sense and the change of a page, voice replay, and
visible / fusion display are set up to the thermal image at the time of a preview display or a thumbnail
display.

(7) Image Info tab
The Image info tab displays the information on the previewed thermal image file, output results of the set
Analysis objects, graph display, and other information. To switch between the tabs, press the button on
the right. ( )
Image info
The Image Information tab displays the file information on the previewed thermal image.
File name: Displays the full pathname of the previewed thermal image file.
Meas.Date: Displays the measured day of a thermal image file.
Meas.Time: Displays the measured time of a thermal image file.
Comment: Displays the comment of a thermal image file
(It is indicated from the first to 80 characters)
Function
It is retained in the thermal image file, comment it is possible to input and to compile and.
Operation
(1) Item “comment” of the image information tub is clicked.

Condition
The Condition tab displays the measurement condition information on the previewed thermal image
file.
Camera Model: Displays the used model (model of a thermo-tracer) at measurement.
Range: Displays the range (range of measurement temperature) at
measurement.
Image mode: Displays the setting information on the image mode or the average
at measurement.
(OFF: Sigma OFF, OFFx2: Sigma OFFx2, OFFx4: Sigma OFFx4,
S2: Sigma 2, S2x2: Sigma 2x2, S2x4: Sigma 2x4,
S8: Sigma 8, S8x2: Sigma 8x2, S8x4: Sigma 8x4,
S16: Sigma 16, S16x2: Sigma 16x2, S16x4: Sigma 16x4,

environmental reflective compensation in a thermo-tracer
at measurement.
POINT
The POINT tab displays the POINT information set at the preview display.
Number: Displays the number of the POINT. (POINT a to POINT t )
Temperature: Displays the temperature value indicated by the POINT.
Emissivity: Displays the emissivity set to the POINT.
Coordinates: Displays the coordinates of the POINT.

BOX
The BOX tab displays the BOX information set in the preview display.
Number: Displays the BOX number. (A to T)
Max: Displays the maximum temperature value in the BOX.
Min: Displays the minimum temperature value in the BOX.
Ave: Displays the average temperature value in the BOX.
Emissivity: Displays the emissivity set to the BOX.
Coordinates: Displays the coordinates of the upper-left and the lower-right corners
of the BOX.
Max coordinates: Displays the coordinates of the maximum temperature value
in the BOX.
Min coordinates: Displays the coordinates of the minimum temperature value
in the BOX.

Trend
The Trend tab displays a trend graph using the horizontal axis for pages and the vertical axis for
temperature while multiple thermal images (svt files are included) are played back.
The target is the temperature value of the POINT. Other than that, for the BOX, POLYGON, LINE
and CIRCLE, the maximum, minimum, and average temperature values are adopted.

8.1.1 Detail of Controller
Function
(1) Level Span setting
Set the upper and lower values for the level for the main view image using the spin
buttons or through direct value input. The span width can be set within the range at
measuring (upper and lower values).

Function
(3) Sensitivity setting
Directly enter or use the spin buttons to input the sensitivity value for the main screen image.
When the level span is set, a check mark is disappears in the check box ( ). In this case,
the sensitivity value is automatically calculated. By adding a check mark in the check box
( ) on the left, a sensitivity value equivalent to that of the Thermo Tracer can be set.

(4) Multi Sense
Color separation ability (OFF, Middle, High/Low) is changed to a Main image view window.
A push on a "multi-sense" button displays a "multi-sense setting" dialog. The target color
separation ability is chosen and the "O.K." button is pushed.

Function
(5) Emissivity
Display image, emissivity of the whole main revision is executed.
It can set emissivity value in the range of the 0.1~1.0.
In addition, as for environmental temperature, when measuring when executing “Reflection
calibration”, environmental temperature is indicated.
When measuring when “Reflection calibration” is not executed, “20.0 degC” is set.

Change the color mode for the main screen image using the pull-down menu
(Fine/Shine/Rainbow/Brightness/Hot iron/Medical/Monochrome positive/negative)

(11) Switching between thermal, visible, and fusion display
You can switch between a thermal image, visible image, and fusion display.
* When no visible image is attached, any visible image is not displayed.
Operation To display a visible image, press the "Visible" button. To combine and display a thermal image
and a visible image, press the "Fusion" button.

[Expansion and contraction mode]
2. To move a thermal image displayed on the visible image, use the mouse. Alter the image in the
vertical, horizontal, and skew directions by using the mouse to set the image in the optimum position.
If you use the "Transparency" slide in the dialog to adjust the transparency of the thermal image at
setting, the setting becomes easier.
3. If you display an infrared image of only the specific temperature range in the level and span setting
range, use the slide bar to adjust the upper and lower limits in the dialog.
4. When setting is completed, click a part of the visible image other than the thermal image.
The combination adjust mode (the dialog is closed) is canceled.

[Rotary mode]

8.1.2 Saving thermal image data
1. Use drag & drop to copy thermal image data to the specified folder.
A) Click the thermal image to be saved on the image preview window to select.
(It is also possible to select multiple images by using the Ctrl key or the Shift key at the
click.)
B) Confirm that the destination folder of the thermal image data is displayed in the folder
selection window. If not displayed, click + on the folder selection window to display
the folder.
C) When you drag the selected thermal image by the mouse cursor, the file is moved
(copied).
If you click a folder and the like (other than + ) on the folder selection window,
when you try to display the destination folder, the image preview window is

2. Save thermal image data in the specified folder of a personal computer by using
the right-click menu.

8.1.3 POINT
The POINT is the function to display the temperature value of the POINT on the image for the displayed
thermal image.
Add a POINT to the location where the temperature value is to be displayed. You can set the added
POINT. You can set the font color and the size of the temperature value, the emissivity of the POINT,
and the coordinates. The methods of setting are:
#The method the tool bar ( ) of pushing the icon, clicking on the thermal image.
#Select [Add Object]-[POINT] of the right click menu.
#Select [Object]- [Add Object]-[POINT] of the menu bar. And at the designated point setting window it
sets.
Function
You can add a POINT to the location where the temperature value is to be displayed. Up to
20 points can be added. Additional method is as follows:
#A right-click menu is opened in a place (point) to add on a thermal image,
and it is "Add Object" - "POINT" is selected.
#Push the POINT icon( ) of the tool bar, click in the optional place.
#"Object"- "Add Object"- "POINT" of a menu bar is selected, and it sets up on a POINT
setting window.
Operation To add a POINT to a location, open the right-click menu at the location where you want to add
a point on the thermal image and select "Add Object" - "POINT", or click the POINT icon
( ) of the toolbar and click on the thermal image. The alphabetic letters a to t are
assigned to the added POINTs.

8.1.3.2 Moving a POINT
Function
You can move the coordinates of the displayed POINT to different coordinates.
(The displayed temperature value is changed to the value of the destination coordinates.)
Operation Point the mouse cursor to the POINT to be moved, and move the POINT by drag & drop. (To
check the coordinates, select and click the POINT to display the coordinates of the POINT as
a pop hint.)
You can also set the coordinates by setting coordinates in the POINT setting

8.1.3.3 Setting a POINT
Function
You can set a POINT. You can set the following six setting items; "emissivity setting",
"display of emissivity", "X coordinate", "Y coordinate", "display style (size and color)", and
"deletion".
Operation
1. When mouse cursor is adjusted to the POINT of the setting object, the right click menu is
opened on the POINT and “Set Object” is selected, “Point setting" window starts.
In addition, because in when the object other than the POINT is not selected, the “Point
selective” picture is indicated by the fact that the button( ) on the tool bar is pushed, it
selects the object, it is possible also to start “Point setting" window.

2. When the "Point setting" window is started, set each of items. To update the settings, click the
[OK] button. To cancel the setting processing, click the [Cancel] button. If you click the
[Delete] button, the POINT is deleted.

You can set a font color and a display size in the "Font Setting" window.
To update the settings, click the [OK] button. To cancel the update, click the [Cancel] button.

8.1.3.4 Deleting a POINT
Function
You can delete a POINT.
Operation To delete a POINT, point the mouse cursor to the POINT to be deleted, open the right-click
menu on the POINT, and select [Delete Object]. You can also delete a POINT from the Point
Setting dialog. In addition, [Delete] of the Point setting window you push the button, or you
can delete even by the fact that the Cut button ( ) on the tool bar is pushed.
Operation
To delete all the set POINTs, right-click on somewhere other than a POINT, and select "Delete
Object " - "All Points". Moreover, all can be deleted if "Object"-"Delete Object"- "All Points" is
selected.

8.1.4 BOX
The BOX function displays the maximum temperature, the minimum temperature, and the average
temperature of the area (rectangle) on the image for the displayed thermal image. Add a BOX to the
location where you want to display the temperature value. You can set and edit the added BOX and set
a font color and a size of the display object and the emissivity of the BOX.
The methods of setting are:
#The method the tool bar ( ) of pushing the icon, clicking on the thermal image.
#Select [Add Object]-[BOX] of the right click menu.
#Select [Object]- [Add Object]-[BOX] of the menu bar. And at the designated BOX setting window it
sets.
Function
You can add a BOX to the location where you want to display the temperature value. Up to
20 boxes can be added.
Operation
At each method below, addition of the BOX is possible.
The BOX which is added is allotted to the name to of `A' ~ `T' of alphabet.

8.1.4.2 Moving a BOX
Function You can move the coordinates of the displayed BOX to different coordinates.
(The displayed temperature value is changed to the value of the destination coordinates.)
Operation
Point the mouse cursor to the BOX to be moved and move the BOX name (A to T) by drag &
drop.
You can also move a BOX by setting coordinates in the BOX setting window.

8.1.4.3 Setting a BOX
Function
You can set a BOX. You can set the following five setting items; "emissivity setting",
"upper-left X coordinate", "upper-left Y coordinate", "Height", "Width", "Style (size and color)",
and "deletion".
Operation
1.When mouse cursor is adjusted to the BOX of the setting object, the right click menu is
opened on the BOX and “Set Object” is selected, “BOX setting" window starts.
Moreover, when the BOX object is selected, BOX setting window can also be started by pushing
the button( ) on a tool bar.
(2) When the "BOX setting" window is started, set items. To update the settings, click the [OK]
button. To cancel the setting,, click the [Cancel] button. To delete a BOX, click the [Delete]
button.
When you click the [Style] button, the change setting window is started. The setting
method of changing the style is the same as that of a POINT.

8.1.4.4 Deleting a BOX
Function You can delete a BOX.
Operation
To delete a BOX, point the mouse cursor to the BOX to be deleted, open the right-click menu
on the BOX, and select "Delete Object". You can also delete a BOX from the BOX Setting
dialog. In addition, [Delete] of the BOX setting window you push the button, or you can delete
even by the fact that the Cut button( ) on the tool bar is pushed.
Operation
To delete all the set boxes, right-click on somewhere other than boxes and select "Delete
Object" - "All Boxes". Moreover, all can be deleted if "Object"-"Delete Object"- "All Boxes" is
selected.

8.1.5 Delete all objects
Function
You can delete all the objects currently set.
Operation To delete all objects, open the right-click menu on a thermal image other than the set objects,
and select "Delete Object"-“All Objects". Moreover, all can be deleted if "Object"-"Delete
Object"- "All Objects" is selected.

8.6 Create Graph
Function
You can create a graph for the target image or the target Object.
Three types of graphs; Trend, can be created.
8.6.3 Trend
Function You can create a trend graph by plotting temperature values of a set Object in the time series
while multiple thermal images (sit or tmp) are played back or an svt file is played back.
In this trend graph, the horizontal axis indicates pages and the vertical axis indicates
temperature values.
Trend graphs are intended for all Objects, including POINT and BOX.
For a BOX other than a POINT, the maximum temperature value, the minimum temperature
value, and the average temperature value are displayed in a trend graph.
To create a trend graph, select "Trend" from the right-click menu on a thermal image, or select
"Graph" - "Trend" from the menu bar.
Operation
1.While a graph is selected (on a POINT, if a POINT is the target), open the right-click menu and
select "Trend", or select "Graph" - "Trend" from the menu bar.
2.Creating a trend graph is started. During creation, the following dialog is displayed. To cancel
processing during creation, press the "Cancel" button.

(4) From the file list, select several thermal images and click the [Add] button to add them to the
page list. To delete an entry from the page list, select any files from the page list and click the

(5) Click the [Open (O)] button to display the file in the Main Display Window. At this time, the
thermal image opens as a page function. Click the [Cancel] button to close the [Open Files]
screen.

Function To create an analysis result report about thermal images, you can output analysis results to a
report template and create a report file.
The created report file is saved in the database folder set by selecting "Options" -
"Environment” from the menu bar.

B) The Report Wizard is displayed. First of all click the template of the output destination on
the "Installed templates" list.
C) Then, specify the thermal image to be output.
Leave only the images to be output in the list by using the Add or Delete button and the

For svt files, you can specify the Start page and the End page.
