PRAYER UPON ENTERING THE PEW
Holy God, I believe I cannot by my own understanding or strength believe
in Jesus Christ my Lord or come to him, but instead the Holy Spirit has
called me through the Gospel, enlightened me with her gifts, made me holy,
and kept me in the true faith, just as she calls, gathers, enlightens, and
makes holy the whole Christian Church and keeps it with Christ Jesus in
the one true faith. Each day in this Christian Church the Holy Spirit
abundantly forgives all sins--mine and those of all believers. On the last
day the Holy Spirit will raise me and all the dead and will give to me and
all believers in Christ eternal life. Amen! This is most certainly true! Amen.
REMEMBRANCE OF SAINTS
We praise and bless you, O Holy Trinity. You have taught us that you love
every being you have made, and you have established the Church, this
ageless communion of saints, as a sign of your love for all. We thank you
for gathering those who faithfully waited in hope for the redemption you
promised, and now for adding us who celebrate the love of your Christ for
the redemption of the world. Prepare a place for us among those who are
already with you. Help us remember them as an encouragement to saintly
living, exciting us to love, in anticipation of an eternal reunion.
We remember especially those saints and souls in and close to our
community who have died this year:

Let us pray.
Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in
the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Grant us grace to
follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know
the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you, through
Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

FIRST READING Isaiah 25:6-9
Isaiah sees a vision of the end of days, when the Lord will gather all God’s
people on God’s holy mountain and will prepare for them a rich feast. At
this banquet the Lord will wipe the tears from all eyes. And there will be no

CREED
As they recite the creed, worshippers are invited to bow beginning with the
words “born of the virgin Mary,” until the words “he descended to the
dead.”
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and
earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally
begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he
came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the
virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third
day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into
heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come
