6.0 In case the gas to be scrubbed is exhibiting higher density compared to air, it is
recommended to provide an induced draft blower at the vent of the scrubber to effectively
scrub the gas.
7.0 Normally, use dilute scrubbing solutions, this will ensure controlled scrubbing rate and
gradual rise in temperature.
8.0 Use a dry trap (cap of dry trap=vol cap of circulation tank - cap of scrubber) in between the
scrubber piping coming from the plant entering the scrubber bottoms. This will prevent short
circuiting of scrubber solution to the process reactor in the event of any evantulity.
9.0 Provide an inverted "U" loop to gas line entering the scrubber bottoms.
10.0 Provide the "U" loop (~550 mm) on the scrubber discharge line going back to the scrubber
circulation tank.
11.0 Provide a suitable strainer in the suction of the scrubber circulation pump to avoid any hard
salts entering the impeller. (this may even damage the mechanical seal).
12.0 Scrubber solution tank provided should have centrally located vertical partition, this will help
reducing the turbulance in the tank during the solution circulation. Also, this will avoid the
cavitation of the circulation pump which may happen due to air ingress.
