RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Google sites is similar to a blog, but it can also be used as a portfolio that has contains past assignment and reflections/reviews.
There is a new and old version. From experience I have used old google sites to write journals for each week. A website can be
created and customised and then multiple pages or tabs can be made on that same website. Videos, images, and font options can
be inserted into the pages. New google sites is formatted more like Weebly and is similar to a collage. It is more suitable for
showing a collection of work because of the creativity that can be put into it and it is more presentable. The new version is easier
to use due to the accessibility of its features. When a student is finished with their work, the link can be posted on Google
classroom where everyone can see it and comment on it.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

Students can gather their accomplishments, memorable projects, and their future plans and present it creatively with Google
sites. Their portfolios help them look back and reflect on past work which creates a feeling of accomplishment. It also assists
them with thinking about the future and what exactly they want to do for a living. For the second standard and third standard, it
is more about reflecting after a lesson or experiment. If one has to analyze data and results from an experiment, it would be best
to have them explain in their own words what the experiment was about. After learning about a specific subject students can
summarize what they did in class , explain what they found interesting or just to help them deepen their understanding. It gets
them to expand what they already know and deepen it by learning from outside sources. Overall it is a great way to organize
information and review their knowledge.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
● Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
● Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I believe the rating is a three. There is a low amount of standards listed but those are the ones that match the most with the
standards. Student portfolios and career exploration complement each other. It supports creative learning because of all the
possible ways to make and present a portfolio.
