PURPOSE:

This procedure is to instruct authorized personnel to replace and calibrate Sechrist ModcI
IV 100B Fluidic Manifold with Non Fluidic Manifold.

WAKNING: This Assembly and Calibration process involves openir~gthe ventilator

e, constitutes an ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD. This procedure must

SECTION I : Djsassembly of an existing Fluidic hlanifnid

1.1 Remove four screws holding the lower control panel to the control ]nodule as
illustrated in Fig. 1.

Breath Cover as iljustrated in Fig. 2.

Secure (3) 10-32x1/8 adaptc~(P/N IV321) and (2) 1 8 tilhc fillings ( P h' 1\'_?11) to

7.2. If unit has 1/8" tubing remove one existing li8" NPT plug from the reguIator
assembly as illustrated in Fig.3. Secure one 10-32 x 1IS " adapter ( P j ' N 3 2 1) and
1/16" tube fitting (P/N3 10) to the regulator asscmblj..

2.3 Install new style rna~lualbreath valve with retaining ring and ma!lual breath cover
as illustrated in Fig. 3.

2.4 Carefillly take New Non-Fluidic Manifold (PIN 2 1435) out from the package.

2.5 Align the lnspiratory and Expiratory Control Valves to the appropriate Iloles in
lower control pancl.

2.6 Use retaining pliers to snap the retaining ring back on the Control Valves.

2.7 Install lnspiralory aid Expiratory Control knobs :IS iIlustrated in Fig. 3

hOTE: To install thc lnspiralory and Expiratory przssure knobs, first rohle thc
Inspiratory and Expiratory valve stems clockwise until they seat gcntly. Rotalz
each valve stem countcrclocku~ise00" i 15 "; inslall the knobs 1s it11 knob slop pit1
rcsting against the valve stop pin. Turn both valves fuIly countcrclockwisc.

2.8 Collnect Solenoid.

2.9 Connect all tubing


back 10 New Non-Fluidic Manifbld as illustrated in Fig. 4 and

SECTION 3: CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 SETUP

3.1.1 Connect 50 psl air and oxygen supply to the air and oxygen fitting as illustraled i n
Fig. 4 to the gas mixer. Connect patient circuif asselnbly, test lrtng, a11J relicf
valve. Turn relief valve all the way in.

3.6.1 Slowly Turn the Expiratory pressure control knob to fully clockwise. Adjust the

from the regulator assembly and illstall fitting (P/N 3635) in tIlc rcgulatoi .
