TEACHER : Miss Lianda Dwi Astuti DATE : 17/04/2017 KEY STAGE : - CLASS : 10
DEPARTMENT : Science SUBJECT : Biology DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGIES :
CURRICULUM THEME : Guided learning, differentiation and modification.
TOPIC : 19.3 Nutrient Cycles Visual, auditory, and kinetics learning approach.
LESSON OBJECTIVES : At the end of lesson the students should be able to :
Describe the carbon cycle, limited to photosynthesis, respiration, feeding, decomposition, fossilisation
and combustion
Discuss the effects of the combustion of fossil fuels and the cutting down of forests on the carbon
dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere
Describe the water cycle, limited to evaporation, transpiration, condensation and precipitation
Describe the nitrogen cycle
State the roles of microorganisms in the nitrogen cycle, limited to decomposition, nitrification, nitrogen
fixation and denitrification (generic names of individual bacteria, e.g. Rhizobium, are not required)
LEARNING ACTIVITIES & ORGANIZATION RESOURCES :
Starter : Teacher makes some question for the students about the student’s knowledge of the nutrients Cambrige IGCSE Biology. Third Edition. D G

up question about how come nutrients never run out in an ecosystem, and the different ways organisms
can get nutrients. ASSESMENT FOR LEARNING STRATEGIES :
Oral (continuous) questions, class work. Self
Introduction : Teacher explain about the carbon cycle (limited to photosynthesis, respiration, feeding, assessment. Test.

down of forests on the carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere, the water cycle (limited to
evaporation, transpiration, condensation and precipitation), the nitrogen cycle and state the roles of
microorganisms in the nitrogen cycle, limited to decomposition, nitrification, nitrogen fixation and

Main tasks :
- To identify and describe carbon cycle, water cycle, and nitrogen cycle.
- To analyse processes of carbon cycle, water cycle, dan nitrogen cycle.
