DDA HAUZ KHAS LAKE
Enviro Way started the Biological treatment of Hauz
Khas lake from 1st July 2008. Here we are treating the
sewage water which was full of algal growth and
organic waste material along with severe problem of
odour, which has been complained by the local
residents and the tourist.
Ever since we started the treatment we have very
effectively over come these problems within the
stipulated time frame.
We have brought down the BOD and SS level very low
(<10 and 20 respectively) and the algal growth has
been checked within three weeks time. The whole
lake and its surroundings is now odour free having a
pleasant atmosphere.

Enviro Way is carrying a Biological treatment
at a lake inside the President House which is
having the unfiltered sewage water, supplied
from the DJB some time directly from the
polluted River water from River Yamuna, for
meeting the demands of the horticulture and
floriculture purposes in the President House.

We have very successfully removed the bad

odor problem which was there at the lake site
and also we controlled the major problem of
algal growth .

 AASTHA KUNJ
ƒ In the past our technology has proven to be the most viable means
of the treatment of sewage. We have been using the same
treatment scheme at the AASTHAKUNJ Park (DDA) & KILOKRI.
These tank were built in in the year 2004 & 2005 under the
supervision of our CIVIL ENGINEERING department.. At
Aasthakunj & Kilokri the treated water is used for the Horticulture
purpose and it has become the main source of water for the (green
belt) park adjacent to it.

ƒ Both the projects are based on Biological treatment of sewage in

our designed tanks. Raw sewage water is effectively being treated
exclusively with our Bioremediation process. We have been able to
successfully eliminate the foul smell of sewer water along with
reduction in BOD, COD, TSS. The treated water is effectively being
used for horticulture purpose, and has proved to enrich the soil
microbiology. It has proved to be the most economical and feasible
technology of wastewater management, requiring minimum land
area and environmental-friendly process.

I) Back Ground of the lake
ƒ Lake at Smriti-Van Vasant Kunj Park is spread over about 5
acres of land. This is an artificial lake receiving untreated
sewage from the adjacent residential areas of Vasant Kunj
Sector –A. The lake’s depth varies from 4-5 m with an average of
4 m. The holding capacity of the lake is 24000 M3 but the water
varies from season to season. The water in lake is raw sewage
coming from residential area surrounded to it, other wastes like
polybags & animal waste is also present in lake water.
ƒ Basic Information
Area = 20000 sq.meter
Depth =1.2 meter (Avg)
Volume = Area x Depth = 24000 cubic meter
Volume of water = 24000 x 1000 = 24 million litres
= 5.2 million gallons
