Firefighting system
- Installed in building to help fire fighter quickly attack the fire. Essentially, a
hydrant system is a water reticulation system used to transport water to limit the
amount hose that firefighters have to lay, thus speeding up the firefighting
process.
Water tank
(Water supply from Pump House Main pipe
SAJ)
54 | P a g e
The flow of the system started from the firefighting water tank. The water supply
from SAJ to the tank. Next, water is transferred to the pump house and it will be
divided into three type of pump based on the pressure drop from the main pipe. The
three type of pump are sprinkler duty pump, supply pump and jockey pump. All this
pump gets power supply from TNB and if the TNB power supply shut down, these
pumps generates power by using diesel.
This pressure meter determine which pump will generate first. Firstly, sprinkler duty
pump will generate first. Then if the pressure drops the supply pump will generate and
lastly if the pressure keeps decreasing, the supply pump together with jockey pump.

For Warehouse 3E, they use SPKA (Automatic Fire Alarm Monitoring Control
System). Purpose of this system is to detect a fire in its early stages, notify the person
in charge and Bomba via SMS. Person in charge will give a confirmation to Bomba if
there is a fire occurs. This system uses Celcom network.
