Teaching approach: this lesson is based on PPP approach.

Materials and resources: Pictures, photocopies, coloured, pencils, scissors, glue, video.

Setting arrangement: Students will be sitting in small groups of 4

Cooperative work: Students help each other and interchange ideas when doing the activities.

Possible problems during the class: If some students don´t listen I will stop for a while and wait
until they realize that they must do silence.

Potential language problems: I will use techniques as gestures, miming, or pointing to pictures to
be understood.

Assessment: I will observe them and hear if they can express themselves orally and then if they
can write sentences correctly.

Routine: (5 min)

Purpose to start the lesson, get students into the mood for work.

Warm up (5 min(10 min)


T. ok let´s talk about heroes (she writes down the word on the board) and she hangs the
picture of superman, she asks – who is the hero in this picture? She waits for answers.
What can you see? I can see … (she writes it down)

Expected answers: I can see a train, a boy, a bike and Superman.


Superman rescues the boy from danger!.

Then, T hangs out the rest of the pictures and asks “ who are they?
T. waits for sts. Answers.

Ok, let´s see some characteristics and abilities…

Activity 2 (10 min)


Before watching a video

T. shows Sts. More pictures and then she asks… What do you think the characteristics
and the abilities of those heroes are?, (she writes down the words) do you think they are
strong? If students say yes then, T. writes it down in the correct bubble. What can they
do? Can they t fly? and T. mimic the action.

T. ok we have seenworked with heroes yesterday, let´s go on with the lesson… T. Let´s
see what do you remember about the characteristics and abilities of our heroes. Mimes
the adjectives and verbs and she. She waits for answers. Commented [A6]: You should prompt their answers –
maybe miming the adjectives and verbs.

Activity 1 (10 min) Before watching a video Commented [A7]: It is far too much time for a miming
game. There are not so many words to mime.
Very good! Now tell me what do heroes use/wear? .She mimes (a cape and a mask) she
writes down the words cape and mask. Then, she says heroes wear a cape and a
mask….T. points to a students and asks. Are you a hero? And teacher reads and points
at someone and points the st. to choose the correct answer (yes or not). Then, she points
at another st. and asks Can you run? (she mimes the action) Sts. choose the correct
answer by looking at the board. Then, she points to a students and says…

You don´t need a cape and a mask.
You don´t need to run too fast.
You don´t need to fly and touch the sky to be a hero!!.

Activity 3 (10 min)

T. tells Sts to sit in pairs and each of them will write about their favourite hero -
characteristics and abilities they have to be a hero – After that they make a drawing of
their hero.

St. reads aloud and shows their drawing to the rest of the group.

Closure

Closure (5min)
Students interchange their work and read aloud their final task.Ok, children all the
drawings are beautiful we are going to hang them on the wall. Commented [A10]: You will probably run out of activities.
Design some extra activities just in case.
Vane, As regards the closure stage, it should be smashing.

There are some aspects to improve in both lesson plans. Please, include pre- /while- / and
post- watching activities, so as to exploit resources to the full. Concentrate on the language
focus chart and provide opportunities for the students to practise and use the target
structures. The same applies to the second lesson plan, include more activities in which
they can be exposed to the language you want them to learn.
Remember to include the charts I have to fill in.
