Act It Out
Analytical balance
a. Procedure on how to operate analytical balance
a. Insert material pads (watch glasses, paper or thin objects) by opening the glass not
too wide so as not to affect the calculation because the laboratory scales are quite
sensitive).
b. Cover the glass of the laboratory scale.
c. Press the zero button to make the calculation more accurate.
d. Enter the material that will be weighed not too wide open the glass, as well as
when it will increase or decrease the material to adjust the desired mass.
e. After placing the material you want to weigh, close the scales glass.
Then the number display will automatically change to adjust the mass of the material.
f. Record the size of the mass of the material being weighed. If you have taken the
weighed material.
g. Then turn off the laboratory scale by pressing the off button
After the scale is completely dead, remove the socket from the statvolt.
h. Clean the space on the scale using a brush. The scales can be lifted and cleaned like
step no. 2
b. Prepare a certain analytical balance
a. Prepare a laboratory scale in a balanced condition
b. Before use, clean the scales first using a brush. Balance sheets on scales can be
lifted and all scales can be cleaned using alcohol / ethanol.
c. Plug the weighing power cable into socket
d. Press the ON button then wait until the 0.0000 g number appears.
c. Precaution before doing and end analytical balance correctly and safety
1. When entering the material to be weighed, the glass wall is opened as wide as the
container to minimize the influence of temperature and external pressure.
2. If weighing the solution, it must weigh the empty container after weighing the
solution. make sure the container is closed so that it is not affected by temperature
and pressure.
3. Understand analytic balance sheet deviations.
4. When considering having to wait a while to get accurate data
5. To get accurate results weighing several times
6. Conduct routine calibration tests. Calibration test includes the ability to read the
scale, the readability of the readout scale, the deviation from the nominal scale value,
and the effect of loading position and hysteresis effect of the scales
