Describe the religious belief of the early


Filipino?
At the first statement of the excerpt. he describe the early Filipino religious belief as an
unorganized and unsystematic he first notice the physical traits or the one that can be
seen he said that there were no concrete and specific worship house for the gods of the
natives. He also describe the imaginary god of the natives as what they called
“badhala”, which the natives adore and worshipped. He thought first that the belief of
the natives were very confusing for they worshipped many gods, the nature ,cosmic
bodies and as well as the spirit of the pass. He thought that they worshipped the devil
for they offered into nature and other living creature sacrifices.as a friar he would have a
prior or superior knowledge about Christianity and would conclude that the natives
conducted idolatry an abomination to the true God of their’ s.

morga sights the fililpino as spiritually blind and not having enough knowledge about the
true God and said that they did not even tend to discover the true God .he said an insult
to the culture and belief by stating in his work that the culture and belief of the Filipino is
controlled by the devil he said that the religious leaders or catalonan are the one who
misled the natives in seeking the one true God.
3.how did Loarca describe the religious belief of the Pintados?
He state that our ancestors have a great knowledge about the past,this could be due to
the ceremonies and belief remembering the way of their living I the old times.his excerpt
was more focused on telling the story on the origin of the world based on the mythology
of the pintados. His comment about the natives are similar to that of placensia that said
that he there was no formal place of worship of the natives to their idols, his view was
the same as morga thought .that the spiritual leaders are the ones who were used by
the demons to conduct ceremonies.
4. Was Chirino’s observation of early Filipino’ s religion influenced by a friar?
yes, it was because his recent excerpt was based on the other written excerpt by other
friars while he was conducting his mission to expand Christianity in our archipelago he
applied the observations of other friars to his comment and point of view.
5.How similar or different where descriptions of Chirino from Placencia's account of
early Filipinos religious beliefs?
The similarities between there excerpt was that they describe the religious belief was
the same they both stated that our ancestors have already a stable belief both very
confusing and that they both praised our ancestors with their beliefs and customs. the
difference is that the excerpt of Chirino was also sided with those of Morga and Loarca
that state that the early customs and belief was abided with the devil.
