Chandra, C.; Kumar, S.

(2001): "Taxonomy of inventory policies for supply-chain

effectiveness". Int. J. of Retail & Distribution Management, 29(4): 164-175.
The author of this article discusses how the application of Taxonomy concept and how different
inventory models and techniques can be generalized in different application environments
(different actors in the Supply Chain).

The study shows that Taxonomy concept is useful, relevant and effective technique classifying
inventory management characteristics. Also, it concludes, that incorporating techniques to fulfil
the diverse demands of the customers within the whole Supply Chain, relevant and realistic
inventory models can be made. However, the author questions how the cost to support these
inventories should be shared among all the Supply Chain actors.

I give this article a 7. I found it really well organized but in my opinion is too technical and
sometime hard to read based on the knowledge I have. A pro point is also the possibility of
applying the study to other industries but maybe I will analyse also the effect in the different
actors of the cost.
