1. The research project should be submitted in hard-bound cover of black colour with
cellophane paper cover, with the following information printed on the hard bound
cover:
(i) Title of the Research Project
(ii) The name of your guide
(iii) The names of students who have prepared the research project
(iv) Batch of 2011-14
(v) Year of study – Final Year BH & HA

2. The actual content of the Research Project should contain a minimum of

5000 words (approx 50 pages). Printing should be on one side only.
3. The format for preparation of the research project is
 Title page
 Certificate
 Acknowledgement – Should acknowledge support received from the guide,
principal and other sources for collecting information.
 Table of Contents – Includes
 Chapters
 Introduction – Introduction to the project
 Methodology adopted for collection of data required for the project.
 Various chapters under which the project may have been done.
 Interpretation and Conclusion and Recommendation for further research if any.
 Limitations –if any.
 Bibliography – Sources of information.
 Appendices if any (e.g. questionnaire, interview, subject index, brochures, special
information, tables & figures if any)
4. Submission of Project Report
The student should submit two copies in printed form to the respective guide and then
after being satisfied & signed by the guide, the same should be submitted to the Principal.
One copy of the project report in the form of CD along with the Hard Bound copy of the
Research project will be retained by the college.
The second copy should be spiral bounded which will be returned to the students before
the project presentation dates.
The last date for submission of the research project to the guide is 9th April 2014 and to the
Principal after being signed by the guide on 11th April 2014.
5. Research Project Presentation will be held along with other practical examinations.
6. The project presentation is by power point in front of a panel consisting of Principal,
External Examiner and Internal Examiner. Time for presentation is 12-15 minutes and
followed by Viva Voce.

All about Research Project Proposal / Synopsis submission and

Approval

 Proforma for Approval of Research Project Proposal duly filled

and signed by both the student and the Project Guide with date.
 Synopsis of the project proposal (2-3 pages).
 A photocopy of the complete Research Project Proposal (along
with Research Project Proforma, Synopsis) submitted to the
Principal, should be retained by the student for future reference.

Proposal Formulation

Synopsis of the project should be prepared in consultation with the

guide the synopsis should clearly state the objectives and research
methodology of the proposed project to be undertaken. It should have
brief details of the research project.

Project Proposal Submission and Approval

Research Project Proposals incomplete in any respect will be

rejected. Students are advised to retain a copy of the synopsis.

Communication of Approval
The approved list of students will be displayed on the Student Notice
Board along with the project titles and Guide and other details such
as Format of preparation of the research project, last date for
submission.

Research Project Presentation

Research Project is required to be presented in front of a panel

comprising of an External & Internal Faculty and Principal, the date of
which will be intimated after submission of completed research
projects.

As Part Of The Curriculum For The 5 th & 6th Semesters Of Your Study In Bachelor
In Hospitality & Hotel Administration, you are required to take up a Research
Topic in your area of interest in hospitality industry or related Industry. A
Research Project should be prepared by a group comprising of 2-3 students
based on the Topic allotted. For the purpose of approval of the research projects,
it is required to submit the following

1. Research Project approval Form

2. Synopsis of the research project.

Details of the Research Project Proposal, Synopsis, Approval of final list and
presentation is given in the attached sheets.

Please read the information below carefully and submit the relevant approval
form attached along with the synopsis to the undersigned on or before
Saturday,1st February, 2014. The list of approved Research Projects will be
displayed on the notice board on Tuesday, 4th February 2014.
