I. IN ORDER TO FOLLOW JESUS (18-22)

1. Where did Jesus want to go (18) Why? Who wanted to follow Jesus at that moment
(19)? Why do you think he wanted to be a disciple of Jesus?

2. How unstable was the life of Jesus (20)? Why did Jesus live like that? Why did Jesus
reveal this to the teacher of the law?

3. What did another disciple say to Jesus (21)? In what aspect was his request
reasonable?

4. What did Jesus order him to do (22)? Whom does ‘the dead’ refer to? (Eph 2:1) What
was the difference between ‘the dead’ and Jesus’ disciples?

II. JESUS CALMS THE WINDS AND THE WAVES (23-27)

5. What danger did Jesus and his disciples meet on the way (23, 24)? What did Jesus do
in the dangerous situation?

6. What did his disciples do (25)? What did they believe about Jesus? What did they fear
of even if Jesus was with them?

7. What did Jesus rebuke them for (26a)? What faith did Jesus want his disciples to
have?

8. How did Jesus reveal his authority (26b)? What new aspect of Jesus could his
disciples have found through this event (27)?

III. JESUS HEALS TWO DEMON-POSSESSED MEN (28-34)

9. Who came to meet Jesus when he arrived at the other side in the region of the
Gadarenes (28a)? How violent were they (28b)?

10. As whom did they recognize Jesus (29a)? Why did they fear Him (29b)? What does it
mean 'before the appointed time'?(Rev 20:10)

11. What did the demons beg of Jesus (30, 31)? Why did Jesus grant their request
(32a)? What was the result (32b)? What authority did Jesus show through this event?

12. What did the town people plead with Jesus to do (33, 34)?
