I. JESUS MADE A LEPER CLEAN (1-4)

1. Why did large crowds follow Jesus when he came down from the mountainside
(1)? (7:28, 29) What kind of person came to him (2a)? Think of his sufferings as a
leper. (Lev 13:45, 46)

2. What did he do and say after coming to Jesus (2b)? What was his earnest desire
and faith? Why did he say, ‘Lord, if you are willing’?

3. How did Jesus show his love toward the leper (3a)? What did he say to him (3b)?
What does it mean that ‘I am willing’? How was the power of Jesus’ word
revealed?

4. What warning did Jesus give to him and how did Jesus help him to restore his
normal social life? (4)

II. JESUS BLESSED THE FAITH OF THE CENTURION (5-13)

5. When Jesus had entered Capernaum, who came to him? What help did he ask of
Jesus (5,6)? Think of his love toward his servant.

6. How did Jesus reply to the centurion (7)? Think of Jesus who was willing to go a
Gentile’s house in order to help a servant (Ac 10:28).

7. Why did the centurion deter Jesus from coming to his house (8a)? What did he
know about Jesus and himself?

8. What did he believe about the power of Jesus’ word (8b)? How could he
understand the power of the word of Jesus so well?

9. How did Jesus praise his the faith of the centurion (10)? What vision did Jesus
have through him and what warning did Jesus give to the Jews (11,12)? How did
Jesus bless the faith of the centurion (13)?

III. JESUS HEALED PETER’S MOTHER-IN-LAW (14-17)

10. What illness did Peter’s mother-in-law suffer from (14)? How did Jesus heal her
(15)?

11. Whom did Jesus heal when evening came (16)? Which word was fulfilled through
this ministry (17)? What does it mean to ‘take up infirmities and carry diseases’?
(cf Isa 53:4-6, 1 Pe 2:24)?
