0 30 % for food , 40% of remaining on clothes and transport... that means 28% of salary. Now left over is 42% of salary... Of this

remaining 50% is for savings i.e, 21% salary (3864.00 /-)

P. Sudheera added 6 months ago

Team CoCubes added 6 months ago

1 In order to get the sum as 41, the following 5 digit combination exist:
99995--->number of 5 digits =5
99986--->number of 5 digit =20
99977--->number of 5 digit =10

99887--->number of 5 digit =30

98888--->number of 5 digit =5
Now, 70 such number exists.

Now for a 5 digit number of form (pqrst) to be divisible by

11(p+r+t)-(q+s)=11, also (p+r+t)+(q+s)=41
p+r+t=26, q+s=15
(p,r,t)=(9,9,8) and (q,s)=(8,7) --------(i)

or (p,r,t)=(9,9,8) and (q,s)=(9,6) --------(ii)

Using 1st equation we can construct 3!/2! ×2!=6 numbers.

Using 2nd equation we can construct 3!/2! ×2!=6 numbers.

Number of favorable cases = 12.
Hence, required probability = 12/70 = 6/35

As per the information pi r^2 / 2 = pi (r-n)^2 pi r^2
Upon sloving above equation we get r^2 + 2n^2 -4nr = 0
Now solve this equation to get the root of equation which is = sqrt(2) [sqrt(2)+-1]

3 Let the four terms be a - 3d, a - d, a + d and a + 3d.

The sum of the two means = a - d + a + d = 2a = 21 or a = 10.5
The product of the two extremes = (a - 3d)(a + 3d) = a^2 - 9d^2 = 54 => (10.5)^2 - 9d^2 = 54
=> 9d^2 = 110.25 - 54 = 56.25

=> 3d = 7.5 => d = 2.5.

The four terms are a - 3d = 10.5 - 7.5 = 3, a - d = 10.5 - 2.5 = 8; a + d = 10.5 + 2.5 = 13 and a + 3d = 10.5 + 7.5 = 18. ie. 3, 8, 13, 18
Thus 3rd term is 13

1 We have to draw the largest possible circular batch. If we will take 590 mm as the largest diameter, that will not suit because another
side is just 420 mm and can not be extended. But if you draw a circle taking 420 mm as diameter that is possible because in this case

420<590. Therefore 420 mm is the largest diameter which can be printed.

Read the passage & answer the following questions.

P.

In the mid 80s, while travelling with friends along Italy's Amalfi coast, I observed a seagull gliding above the rocky cliffs. There was nothing particularly unusual
about the seagull but on this occasion I noted with some surprise, that it travelled hundreds of yards with little effort. A mere tilt of its wing, slight shift of its
body, took it up or down, right or left. But for expended body heat, minor muscle exertion, a turn of the head, the distance covered by the gull was
accomplished with little or no waste.

At the same time I remembered camera footage of the space shuttle launching from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and the great plume of smoke exhausted by it.
Human waste, to a certain extent, defines human evolution. We have become what we are in accordance with our waste and what we waste has prevented us
from evolving to where we could be without waste.

Many a tale has been told of ascetics who eat one meal a day, drink a glass of milk several times a month or eat only leaves on several occasions. Whether true
stories or not, such tales do focus on the basic inadequacies of the human digestive system and suggest it can be improved upon by "conscious" effort and
conditioning.

Beyond this and within reach of the average man are day-to-day episodes of forgetfulness, anger and dishonesty that may constitute wasted energy which, if
made available to us, would assist a personal and collective rise in evolutionary possibilities. Waste in relation to man refers to all energy baring quantities which
pass by us or through us without our exerting a controlled intention over them.

What did the author find unusual about the seagull?

0 In such type of problems the first thing is to identify the first sentence. Among 5 given sentences (b) and (d) can not be the first line of

sentence thus option C can be neglected in first go. among three remaining choices Option B can also be dropped as statement (a) is
not an appropriate sentence to start a paragraph. Between A and D read the sentences as per the sequence in both choice, you can
easily guess that A is the correct choice.

Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow:
P.

All the cells in a particular plant start out with the same complement of genes. How then can these cells differentiate and form structures as different as roots,
stems, leaves and fruits? The answer is that only a small subset of the genes in a particular kind of cell are expressed, or turned on, at a given time. This is
accomplished by a complex system of chemical messengers that in plants include hormones and other regulatory molecules.
Five major hormones have been identified, auxin, abscisic acid, cytokinnin, ethylene and gibberellins. Studies of plants have now identified a new class or
regulatory molecules called oligosaccharines.
Unlike the oligosaccharines, the five well known plant hormones are pleiotropic rather than specific, growth and development of plants. The five have so many
simultaneous effects that they are not very useful in artificially controlling the growth of crops, Auxin, for instance ,simulates the rate of cell elongation, causes
shoots to grow up and roots to grow down ,and inhibits the growth of lateral shoots. Auxin also causes the plant to develop a vascular system, to form lateral
roots, and to produce ethylene.

The pleiotropy of the five well studied plant hormones is somewhat analogues to that of certain hormones in animals. For example, hormones from the
hypothalamus in the brain stimulate the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland to synthesize and release many different hormones, one of which stimulates the
release of hormones from the adrenal cortex. These hormones have specific effects on target organs all over the body. One hormone stimulates the thyroid
gland, for example another ovarian follicle cells, and so forth. In other words, there is a hierarchy of hormones.
Such a hierarchy may also exist in plants. Oligosaccharines are fragments of the cell wall released by enzymes: different enzymes release different
oligosaccharines. There are indications that pleiotropic plant hormones may actually function by activating the enzymes that release these other, more specific
chemical messengers from the cell wall.

According to the passage, the five well known plant hormones are not useful in controlling the growth of crops because

answer as both are starting with chose and do not follow grammatic rules. Again read the complete sentence with option B and D and

choose the correct option. D is the suitable choice.
