1 In order to get the sum as 41, the following 5 digit combination exist:
99995--->number of 5 digits =5
99986--->number of 5 digit =20
99977--->number of 5 digit =10
98888--->number of 5 digit =5
Now, 70 such number exists.

6 M denotes men & W denotes women. 12M finish work in 4 days. Therefore 12Mens' 1 day work is 1/4. Also 1Men's 1 day work is
1/(4*12)= 1/48.
15W finish work in 4 days. Therefore 15Womens' 1 day work is 1/4. Also 1W 1 day work is 1/(4*15).
6Mens' 1 day work= (1/48)*6= 1/8. 6Mens' 2 days work =(1/8)*2= 1/4.
1/4 part of the work is finished by 6M in 2 days. 3/4 part of the work is left out which is to be finshed by Women in 3 days.
2 12 m work 4 d 1 part .so 6 m work 2 day=(1*6*2)/(12*4)=1/4 part . so remaining work=1-1/4=3/4 part.. so 1part of work done by 4 day

A 130 minutes
23
B 135 minutes Useful?
C 170 minutes
D 180 minutes
A
Discuss your solution to this question . . .
9 1000 bulbs requires (10+5) min for manufacturing. 1500 holder requires (20+10) min for manufacturing.
Now take LCM of (1000,1500) = 3000 . Therefore 3000 bulbs have been manufactured in 45 min & 3000 holders in 60 min
So 60 minutes are minimum required to produce 3000 pair of bulbs & holders so 9000 pairs in 180 min.
But question is asking for minimum time hence 180 min-10 min. where 10 min are the last cleaning time which is ignored .So the ans is

2 @team cocubes there is a mistake in question. the no at odd position is multiplied by 2 so "O" should be multiplied by 2 i.e. its code
should be 30 instead of 15 and 'y' should be 25 instead of 50.
L from A = 12 ; coded as it is
Follow the same pattern to decode PERSON
0 L-12 and 0-15...why none of dem are multiplied by 2 instead acrdng to pattern O should be multiplied??....plz explain..

Hey you got this right. As an expert share it with students across India . . .
In the mid 80s, while travelling with friends along Italy's Amalfi coast, I observed a seagull gliding above the rocky cliffs. There was nothing particularly unusual
about the seagull but on this occasion I noted with some surprise, that it travelled hundreds of yards with little effort. A mere tilt of its wing, slight shift of its
body, took it up or down, right or left. But for expended body heat, minor muscle exertion, a turn of the head, the distance covered by the gull was
accomplished with little or no waste.
At the same time I remembered camera footage of the space shuttle launching from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and the great plume of smoke exhausted by it.
Human waste, to a certain extent, defines human evolution. We have become what we are in accordance with our waste and what we waste has prevented us
from evolving to where we could be without waste.
Many a tale has been told of ascetics who eat one meal a day, drink a glass of milk several times a month or eat only leaves on several occasions. Whether true
stories or not, such tales do focus on the basic inadequacies of the human digestive system and suggest it can be improved upon by "conscious" effort and
conditioning.
Beyond this and within reach of the average man are day-to-day episodes of forgetfulness, anger and dishonesty that may constitute wasted energy which, if
made available to us, would assist a personal and collective rise in evolutionary possibilities. Waste in relation to man refers to all energy baring quantities which
pass by us or through us without our exerting a controlled intention over them.

0 In such type of problems the first thing is to identify the first sentence. Among 5 given sentences (b) and (d) can not be the first line of
sentence thus option C can be neglected in first go. among three remaining choices Option B can also be dropped as statement (a) is
not an appropriate sentence to start a paragraph. Between A and D read the sentences as per the sequence in both choice, you can
easily guess that A is the correct choice.
Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow:
P.
All the cells in a particular plant start out with the same complement of genes. How then can these cells differentiate and form structures as different as roots,
stems, leaves and fruits? The answer is that only a small subset of the genes in a particular kind of cell are expressed, or turned on, at a given time. This is
accomplished by a complex system of chemical messengers that in plants include hormones and other regulatory molecules.
Five major hormones have been identified, auxin, abscisic acid, cytokinnin, ethylene and gibberellins. Studies of plants have now identified a new class or
regulatory molecules called oligosaccharines.
Unlike the oligosaccharines, the five well known plant hormones are pleiotropic rather than specific, growth and development of plants. The five have so many
simultaneous effects that they are not very useful in artificially controlling the growth of crops, Auxin, for instance ,simulates the rate of cell elongation, causes
shoots to grow up and roots to grow down ,and inhibits the growth of lateral shoots. Auxin also causes the plant to develop a vascular system, to form lateral
roots, and to produce ethylene.
The pleiotropy of the five well studied plant hormones is somewhat analogues to that of certain hormones in animals. For example, hormones from the
hypothalamus in the brain stimulate the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland to synthesize and release many different hormones, one of which stimulates the
release of hormones from the adrenal cortex. These hormones have specific effects on target organs all over the body. One hormone stimulates the thyroid
gland, for example another ovarian follicle cells, and so forth. In other words, there is a hierarchy of hormones.
Such a hierarchy may also exist in plants. Oligosaccharines are fragments of the cell wall released by enzymes: different enzymes release different
oligosaccharines. There are indications that pleiotropic plant hormones may actually function by activating the enzymes that release these other, more specific
chemical messengers from the cell wall.
According to the passage, the five well known plant hormones are not useful in controlling the growth of crops because
