Manual Dialysis Using the


Dialynate Set
Supplies
 Dialynate Set  Gloves
 2L or 3L bag of dialysis solution  Masks
 Timers (1 or 2)  Connecting supplies
 Coban  Disconnecting supplies
Priming Instructions
1. Wash or gel your hands.
2. Gather supplies.
3. Put on a mask.
4. Wash your hands.
5. Put on gloves.
6. Open the Dialynate Set. Leave the packaging after opening.
7. Hang dialysis solution on the pole.
8. Connect solution to the Dialynate Set using the luer connector. Clamp all
three luer connector lines.
9. Close the roller clamp below the buretrol.
10.Hang the drain bag lower than the buretrol of tubing.
11.Break the frangible on the bag of dialysis solution and open the clamp on
that connector line. Keeping the buretrol upright, fill with 60 mls of
dialysis solution and then clamp.
12.Keeping the patient line of the Dialynate Set on the sterile paper in the
packaging, open the roller clamp below buretrol and prime to the end of
the patient line.
13.Once primed, turn the stopcock closed to the patient line and open to the
drain line and let the remainder of the fluid prime through, stopping
when the volume in the buretrol is 5 to 10mls.
14.Label the 3 tubes attached to the stopcock as “Fill,” “Patient,” and “Drain.”

1. Follow the steps for connecting to the cycler.

Getting Rid of the Setup:

3. Empty the drain bag into the toilet.
4. You can now throw the Dialynate set in the garbage.
