I had prepared something for you. It has a
relevance to our topic for today so I want you
to listen carefully, because later on I will ask
you to write what you observed.

Let us accept the fact that accidents may


happen anytime, anywhere to anybody.
Even experiencing it as a bystander an
accident is not a pleasant scene.
That’s why it is very important for us to at
least have a basic knowledge on first aid.

C. Lesson Proper
Our topic for today is all about Bandaging
Techniques

What do you mean by the word Bandaging?


( Student’s raise their hands )
The process of covering a wound of an injury.

Bandaging means to blind a wound or a part of


the body with a protective strip of materials.

What is the importance of Bandaging?


 To create pressure over an area
 To immobilize a part of the body.
 To support and protect wound from
contamination.
 To reduce bleeding.
Today we will use Triangular Bandage.

What is a triangular bandage?


A piece of cloth cut in the shape of a right –
angled triangle use to cover an injury on
someone’s body.
Triangular bandage have also its part.
( The teacher will ask the students to identify
the parts of the triangular bandage. )

( The teacher’s show the learners on how to


bandage the following injuries. )
 Triangular Bandage for head
1. Fold back the base about 2 inches to
make a hem. ( The students will also demonstrate bandaging

2. Fold the base to the desired width
3. Carry the ends around to the back
4. Tie longer end with apex.
 Triangular Bandage for Shoulder
1. Start at the armpit
2. Cross – over at injured shoulder
3. Tie at the opposite armpit
( side of front )
 Triangular Bandage for hip or Buttock
1. Fold the point, perpendicular to the
base.
2. Tie the two points around the thigh on
the injured side.
3. Lift the base up to the waistline.
4. Fold to the desired width.
5. Carry the ends around the waist.
6. And tie on the opposite side of the
body.
 Triangular Bandage for Foot or hand
1. Place the foot in the center of a
triangular Bandage.
2. Carry the point over the ends of the
toes and over the upper side of the foot
to the ankle.
3. Cross the ends, and tie in a square knot.
D. Application
Now that you’ve learned the different
Bandaging Technique. I will group you
into five group will pick one card. There ( Each group will pick one card )
are injuries written on these index cards,
and you will provide the appropriate
Bandaging for that injury.

E. Generalization
