Good morning brothers, sisters, ladies, and gentlemen
First of all, let s thank God, the Almighty who has been giving us His mercy and b
lessings till we can attend this speech competition without any obstacle in this
good place and time.
Secondly, May Sholawat and Salam always be with our Prophet Muhammad Pease be Up
on Him, who has guided us from the darkness to the lightness in the world as wel
l as in the next world.
Thirdly, I will never forget to thank all of you here who have given me the oppo
rtunity to deliver my speech.
Standing in front of you all, my name is Try Andrian from SMA Negeri 1 Medan, an
d I would like to present my speech under the title of:
Language plays an important role in human life. One tries to acquire, learn and
use language as means of communication and socialization. By using language som
eone could make statements, convey facts and knowledge, explain or report someth
ing, and keep social relations among the language users. These indicate that by
means of language, people can express their ideas, feeling, information etc thro
ugh communication
English is an international language and one of the most popular languages aroun
d the world. This indicates that English is a great medium of communication, edu
cation, socialization, and governments. But, the purposes and benefits of our le
arning English are the things that we all should know.
There are some reasons why English is important and many people attempt to learn
it. Some of them are: for finding job, traveling, interacting one each other, d
oing business, taking examination, doing research, writing in the foreign langua
ge, etc.
The purpose of studying English is as a stock when we're all going to step into
the lives of globalization.
Every person should engage in the world of globalization if he/she wants to grow
and not just running in place, so that I think mastering the English language i
s a good stock and requires us to always be moving forward.
In such developing country like Indonesia, English has a vital role in all aspec
ts of life, particularly in science and technology. Furthermore, it can be used
for developing relationships in the international forum, to tighten the relation
ship among nations in the world, etc. As students, we learn English are intended
to obtain various knowledge, to comprehend and understand the textbooks learned
in English, to gain knowledge and skills, and to be ready enter to the universi
ty, as one of the test requirements for students of senior High School (SMA), et
c. Looking at the above important roles of English, that is why English is very
important to understand and to master by every people throughout the world since
before.
So the question is, how do we as students improve our English skills?
English is highly necessary to be learned and mastered by everyone, in order to
be able to compete in the globalization era

There are some things you can do to improve writing skills that you may find hel
pful, but work to develop your own process and use methods that inspire you.
f you are giving your writing to anyone else to look at, accurate grammar will s
how that you are professional and competent, as well as making your writing look
 clean, neat, and generally easy to follow.

I think it s completely enough for me to this point. The wrong utterances are caus
ed by limitation of my ability and the right one is merely from Allah SWT. So, I
beg your pardon, finally I say.
1. English is highly necessary to be learned and mastered by everyone, in order
to be able to compete in the globalization era;
2. English is a key to open and master science and technology, because most of s
cientists write their experts and inventions in English.
3. As students of high school (SMA), we have to prepare ourselves by learning ha
rd, particularly English as well as the other subjects at school;
4. By mastering English enables us to become survive and go anywhere throughout
the world
