Our Winter weather forecast for El Paso and Las
Cruces continues to be massaged just a bit. Below is the latest
updated forecast for December, January and February all
across the country.
The latest temperature forecast for the El Paso area is lo-
cated below. The Climate Prediction Center is anticipating that
our area will see a warmer than normal winter. This warmer than normal outlook extends
throughout much of New Mexico and Texas.
The latest precipitation outlook for El Paso is also located below. The model has El Paso,
much of New Mexico and Texas with below normal amounts of precipitation. These com-
puter forecast models are taking into effect La Niña which is strengthening.
La Niña is defined as cooler than normal sea-surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific
Ocean that impact global weather patterns. La Niña conditions may persist for as long as two
years.
Outlook for December, January and February La Niña often features drier than
Winter Temperatures normal conditions in the Southwest
in late summer through the subse-
quent winter. Drier than normal con-

Southeast in the winter. In contrast,
