Introduction of Sustainable Sanitation for All
• SDG 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation
for all;
• Country-wide inclusive sanitation(CWIS) and the whole sanitation business
chain;

1. Common Goal
• sustainable and safe management of water and sanitation for all;
• with a more concerted effort on sanitation.

2. Promote Country-wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) and Whole Sanitation Chain


• institutional framework- ensuring the ownership/leadership;
• regulatory framework- make it mandatory;
• human capital- capacity building;
• optimal technical designs;- digital tech, resource recovery, IT Apps
• private sector participation- private operators as sub-contractors;
• increase demand for safely managed sanitation services through strategic
communications campaigns- more buy-in;

3. Institutionalize Sanitation for All
• Champion CWIS and whole sanitation chain approaches within our
organizations, our clients and partners;
• Mainstream into our operations and promote continuous learning and
networking.

4. Immediate opportunities
• Identify immediate opportunities to apply the CWIS approach and integrate
non-sewered sanitation (NSS) components into our ongoing and planned
sanitation investments;
• Integrate with case-by-case approaches, such as flood management and solid
waste management; compass is more important than maps
• Promote progressive financial strategies that accelerate access to safe services
for all.

5. MDB/BAs coalition.
• Long way to go to achieve Target 6.2;
• Work together;
• Start with development of standard guidelines and checklist for CWIS and
sanitation business chain
• Cover planning, implementation and monitoring phases.
