PRINCIPLES OF

VISUAL GRAMMAR
1. Headroom - The space above the object or character within a
frame.

2. Nose room/Lead room - The space within the frame that


connects to an outside space of interest

3. 180-degree rule - An imaginary line called the axis connects


the characters and by keeping the camera on one side of this
axis for every shot in the scene

4. Shot, reverse-shot sequence - shot of two characters engaged


in a dialogue will favor one and another.
1. TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION- It is also known as Over-The-Air or OTA. It is the traditional method
of television broadcast signal delivery.

2. SATELLITE & CABLE BROADCASTING-A broadcast system in which signals that come from the
satellite to the cable operator are distributed via co-axial cables to individuals subscribers.

1. National Television Systems Committee:

This standard was introduced in the US in 1940


PRODUCTION NTSC has 525 lines displayed at 30 frames per second.
STANDARDS It has lower resolution than PAL or SECAM

NTSC, 2. Phase Alternating Line or PAL:

PAL, PAL was introduced in Germany in 1967.


It has higher resolution with 625 lines and uses only 25 frames per second.

SECAM the flicker becomes unnoticeable.

3. Sequential Colour with Memory:

SECAM was introduced in France in 1967.

BUDGET PREPARATION
· Production budget determines how much money will be spent on the entire
video project. It involves the identification and estimation of cost items for
each phase of TV Production
(development, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution).

· The budget structure is normally split into "above-the-line" (creative) and


"below-the-line“ (technical) costs
