1) In the case of DC coils, increased starting currents (2.6 A on average)
arise during the first 200 ms. For direct control from a PLC, we recommend
special 3RT204. -.KB4. coupling contactors with adapted power
consumption, suitable for a PLC output current of 2 A (see page 3/64).
2)
The OFF-delay of the NO contact and the ON-delay of the NC contact
are increased if the contactor coils are attenuated against voltage peaks
(varistor +2 to 5 ms, diode assembly: 2x to 6x).

■ Application
The contactors are suitable:
• For switching resistive loads
• For isolating systems with ungrounded or poorly grounded
neutral conductors
• For system transfers when alternative AC power supplies are
used
• For use as contactors which only carry current and do not
have to switch in case of inductive loads – e.g. variable-speed
operating mechanisms
• For switching mixed loads in distribution systems (e.g. for
supplying heaters, lamps, motors, PC power supply units)
with p.f. > 0.8 according to IEC 60947-4-1 test conditions for
utilization category AC-1
For a general description of 3RT contactor, sizes S00 to S2, see
from page 3/15 onwards.

■ Overview
Standards With sizes S0 and S2, two auxiliary contacts 1 NO + 1 NC
are included in the basic version.
IEC 60947-1, EN 60947-1,
IEC 60947-4-1, EN 60947-4-1, Mountable auxiliary contacts
IEC 60947-5-1, EN 60947-5-1 (auxiliary switches)
Size S00 to S2
The contactors are suitable for use in any climate.
They are finger-safe according to IEC 60529. Four additional auxiliary contacts, including no more than
two NC.
The accessories for the 3-pole SIRIUS 3RT2 contactors can also
be used for the 4-pole versions, see from page 3/75 onwards. For a general description of sizes S00 to S2 of 3RT2 contactors,
see from page 3/15 onwards.
■ Application
4
The contactors are suitable: Note:
• For changing the polarity of hoisting gear motors Single device for pole reversal; not suitable for reversing duty.
• For switching two separate loads 3RT25 contactors are not suitable for switching a load between
two current sources.

note the following:
• Of these eight auxiliary contacts, there must be no more than Sealable covers
four NC contacts. See page 4/46
• Ensure the symmetry of laterally mounted auxiliary switch

See page 4/44 For SIRIUS contactors there are sealable covers available for
this purpose as accessories; these prevent accidental manual

varistors for damping opening surges in the coil. Diodes or
diode assemblies (comprising noise suppression diodes and
Zener diodes for short break times) can be used.
With these contactors, varistors, RC elements and diode
assemblies can be plugged on directly at the coil terminals,
either on the top or underneath.
The plug-in direction of the diodes and diode assemblies is
determined by a coding device.
Note:
The OFF-delay of the NO contact and the ON-delay of the
NC contact are increased if the contactor coils are attenuated
against voltage peaks (noise suppression diode 6 to 10 times;
diode assembly 2 to 6 times, varistor +2 to 5 ms).

■ Application
Contactors with plug-in terminals
The main area of application for the 3TK20 miniature contactors
with flat connectors is in household equipment. These contac-
tors are also suitable for simple electric controllers.
No auxiliary switch blocks can be retrofitted.
