The sound of the bell rescues me from the torture that is work-
ing with Mouse. Bailey wanted a detailed timeline of when
we’d be meeting to work on the project, and Mouse was terri-
fied to put anything down on paper without Jenna’s approval.
“Jesus Christ,” I said, ripping the page away from him. “Just
write shit down. It’s not like Bailey’s going to show up at your
house to make sure we’re sticking to the schedule.” I wrote
down a bunch of random dates and handed it in just as the
bell rang.
Out in the hall, Kevin falls into step beside me, gloating
over the fact that he’s in Keisha and Ella’s group.
“Maybe you’ll finally get some play,” I joke. Kevin’s not known
for his luck with the ladies. The trouble is, he tries way too hard,
and it freaks girls out.
