PROPOSE TITLE:

“A PROPOSE RESEARCH FACILITIES FOR GOAT AND SHEEP ENTERPRISE OF

TARLAC CITY”

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The Philippines have two white meat known as chicken and
pork that easily find in the market and it is low in price
compare to beef, but when we talk about health and nutrition
goat is healthier compare to them. (see. Table 1) and because of
this health benefits some consumer prefer to eat goat than to
eat beef, chicken or pork even though the higher in price

Base on PCARRD (Philippine Council for Agriculture,

Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development)
Bangladesh asked to supply them with 200hd of goat twice a
month, but the deal is not push thru because the supply of goat
is low. The low supply of goat has basic factors- high slaughter
rate and low productivity. Low productivity stems for lack of
knowledge on improved management practice and lack of quality
breeders. This leads in long production cycle of more than 9
months with conception rate as low at 75%; kids on the other
hand have high pre weaning mortality rate (25%) and the growth
is slow and weight of 15kg market age.

In considering this problem, the Tarlac City conduct a

seminar for goat and sheep production that they call FLS-GEM
also known as Farmer Livestock School on Goat Enterprise
Management to train same farmer in goat and sheep industry, as
of now the Program have a 4 batch of farmer graduated in the
seminar and all this farmers receive one male goat for breeding
and upgrading their stacks, all this male goat are imported came
for other country after how many month Tarlac City receive a
report that some of the male goat are dead because of the
improper care, that the reason why the department of agriculture
of Tarlac city Goat team want to have a research facilities in
production of Goat and sheep breeder and goat and sheep
products.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study addresses to the current needs and future demands of
Tarlac City in terms of research facilities for goat and sheep
production.

The significance of this study can be further realized in

different aspects:

• COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT- this study will be significant to

the community environment because of the employments needed in
the operation of the research facilities and benefits of goat
and sheep products to health.

• BREEDERS OF TARLAC- this study will be significant to the

breeders of Tarlac City and other municipalities because of its
possible impact in the supply of goat and sheep meat in the
market, the technology that they develop to help the breeders in
goat industry and the knowledge on how to upgrade their
livestock in terms of weight and kidding.

• ARCHIECTURAL KNOWLEDGE- this study contributes to the

design concept, architectural/plans, solution or approach for
developing a research facilities building.

• RESEARCHER. This study provided an opportunity for the

researcher to culminate the knowledge he has learned in the
architecture course. The researcher can apply what he has
learned in this study to his future developing a research
facilities building.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The problem is to design research facilities that focus on
production of goat and sheep

In order to propose an architectural design for the facilities,

the researchers must answer the following question.

a) What character concept will be suited for the facilities?

b) What will be the possible impact of having research

facilities in the price and demand of goat and sheep?

c) Can this facilities help to increase the production of goat

and sheep?

d) What the areas, facilities and spaces needed for the

facilities?

OBJECTIVE
The main objectives of the study are the following

a) To develop a sustainable concept that suitable for the

facilities.

b) To provide a venue or place for the seminar in terms of

goat and sheep industry.
c) To give a house for the program that Tarlac City conduct
(Farmer Livestock School on Goat Enterprise Management).

c) To design and make proper site development plan with

organize plans for the future expansion, proper zoning of public
and private areas, and appropriate circulation within the site.

d) To make research facilities that helps in increase the

production goat and sheep.

e) To make a prototype design of goat and sheep barn

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The outputs are limited only to the architectural drawings
such as the floor plans, site development plan, elevations and
sections, perspective drawings and detailed drawings of the
unique features.
