Novel: A narrative, usually fiction
Character: any person in a story
Narrative: A story of events or experiences
Dialogue: Conversation between two or more characters
Narrator: A person who tells the story or events
Plot: Sequence (order) of events in a story
Introduction: first paragraph; introduces story
Conclusion: last paragraph; ending of story

This Week’s Objectives
Reading/Writing: We will finish reading our core lit.
book, “Esperanza Rising” in which students will then
practice building their ability to read challenging text
closely as relating it with all we’ve learned about
Human Rights while citing evidence from the text.
We will begin writing a narrative.
We will also continue reading Wonder by RJ Palacio
which will allow us to learn how to be kind to one
another.
Grammar: Prepositions
Math: This week in math we will continue Module 2:
Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Fraction
Operations. Students apply patterns of the base ten
system to mental strategies and a sequential study
of multiplication via area diagrams and the
distributive property leading to fluency with the
standard algorithm.
Science: Planets and Solar System
Social Studies: 13 Colonies
Health: Taking Others’ Perspectives ---
• Demonstrate the ability to take someone
else’s perspective.
