GOAL
The goal of the STEM Scholarship Program is to support the success
(graduation/transfer) of students in STEM disciplines.

Complete this application packet and submit it with ALL required

documents in person to Mr. Peter Bostic in SSA 239D
by 10/1/2018, 5 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY
1. Must be LAHC student enrolled full-time (12 units per semester)
2. Students must meet the criterion of financial aid need (FASFA
eligible)
3. Students must have declared a STEM major defined as Chemistry,
Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics &
Natural Science, Mathematics or Physics.
4. Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
5. Scholarship recipients selected must be available to attend the
award ceremony on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, approximately
from 12:30 -1:30 p.m.

Application Packet Requirements

1. Completed scholarship application.
2. Copy of FASFA or ISIR Award Letter.
3. Submit a 500–word or less essay describing your interest in a STEM career
and the obstacles you may have faced, or currently face while here at LAHC.
Include your future goals. Must be typed, using Times New Roman font,
and 12-point size.
4. For level 1 applicants –minimum GPA of 2.5, copy of unofficial transcripts.
5. For level 2 applicants - minimum GPA of 2.8, copy of unofficial transcripts.
6. Copy of student’s educational plan signed by a STEM counselor.
