PROGRAMME
NOV – DEC 2017
As per the directions of JNTUK NSS Cell regarding SWACHH ANDHRA PROGRAMME, a
meeting with Shri K. Karunakar, Panchayat Secretary, Kapuluppada and K. Nagarampalem is held on
22-11-2017 i.e., Wednesday. Faculty coordinators of two units NSS UNIT – AP11-007 and NSS
UNIT – II along student volunteers have expressed about the guidelines and objectives of the activity.
Dr C.V. Nageswara Rao, NSS PO has detailed him about the program and requested for his valuable
advice. Panchayat Secretary has given us directions in executing the program and suggested various
points to be considered before taking up survey to see our nation as Open Defecation Free Nation by
March 2018. He also emphasized on how each individual should take responsibility right from their
respective families and neighbourhood. The following points were discussed: 1. It is resolved that two
panchayats namely Kapuluppada and K. Nagarampalem each consisting of 7 villages shall be selected
by our NSS units for taking up SWACHH ANDHRA PROGRAM. 2. A soft copy of the survey sheet
shall be prepared by our NSS unit and the same shall be finalized by Panchayat Secretary 3. Present
status of the IHL (Individual Household Latrines) shall be issued to enable for an effective survey. 4.
After the survey report is given with respect to availability and non-availability of toilets, application
forms shall be issued upon screening. Consequently the forms shall be filled in by the resident with
the help of student volunteer and the same shall be submitted in the Panchayat office for further

Uses of forests
People began life on this planet as forest dwellers. They were food gatherers
and depended on the forest for all their needs: food, clothing, and shelter. They
gradually became food growers, clearing a small patch in the forest to grow
food. But they continued to depend on forests to meet a lot of their needs. Even
today people depend on the forest for paper, timber, fuel wood, medicine, and
fodder.

ABSTRACT:-
On the observance of National Science Day and Water Conservation
Day, The NSS unit-1 volunteers of Gayatri Vidya Parishad college of
engineering(A) has taken a step forward to create awareness among
the people about how water plays a vital role in humans survival. An
awareness week is conducted between 26th of February 2018 to 2nd
of march 2018.
Save Water it Will Save you Later…!! As the saying goes, we the
students of NSS and other social group volunteers have put up some
exhibits to grab the attention of the crowd and convey our message
on saving water
Water = Life,
Conservation = Future!
It takes a Lot of Blue to
stay Green.
The taps intrigued him but, as they were selling for more than $100 each, he decided to put
his inventive skills to the test to make his won.
The magic tap is a clever illusion. It consists of a faucet mysteriously hovering above a pool
or basin with an endless supply of water gushing out of it from seemingly nowhere. The
faucet remains surprising steady despite having no visible support and where is all this water
coming from? This spectacular effect is achieved by a transparent tube in middle of water
column that holds the tap in place and, at the same time keeps feeding it with water pumped
from below. The water goes up through the tube and exits at the top. The water goes up
through the tube and exists at the top. The water column, which is usually turbulent,
effectively hides the tube from view.
Several giant floating tap fountains can be found around Spain, Belgium, US, Canada and
other parts of the world.
WATER TECH INDIA introduced the product of worth Rs1, 50,000/- is placed in Gujarat
which is not unique but expensive and became as a commercialproduct in society.
DESCRIPTION
As it is miniature version of magic tap we used a bucket with a hole at the
centre and 50ml burette with four holes is attached to tap and pipe is taken
through the bucket and is attached to another end of burette .The water travels
upwards through pipe due to high pressure at the bottom. As water reaches to
the top of burette it falls down from the holes made at the end of burette due to
gravity. This happens continuously, which appears that the water is coming
through pipe without any sources.

WATER SURVEY
In the present day society creating awareness about conservation of water is
very essential. There are already many places which are suffering a severe water
shortage .If we don’t take this issue seriously then we need to face severe
consequences.
From the moment we wake up we need .Improper water supply causes a lot of
inconvenience to all of us. But still we waste a lot of water. If we ignore this
situation then there will be a day when water will cost more than gold!
Well our college NSS (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME) unit took the
initiative to create awareness among the pupil of our college. As a part of
WORLD WATER DAY which is observed on 22nd march every year, we
conducted a survey among the students of our college .
As a part of survey we created a google form and around 200 students gave
their responses. The main motto of theis survey was to identify the water usage
and wastage and to motivate them to use water wisely. The questions like How
much water they drink? How many buckets of water they use to bath? How
much amount of water you utilise for cooking purpose? And so on.
This survey was conducted in the 1st week of march. All their resposes were
recorded andat the end we also mentioned some motivating and inspiring words
In this process all the department students actively participated and gave their
opinions and responses.
ABOUT TRICK:-
ABOUT TRICK:-
THINGS WHICH WE NEED:
2. Soda water
3. Grapes
PROCEDURE:
1. Fill the glass bowl with soda water about 3/4th of its depth.
2. Drop some grapes with peel into the glass bowl.
3. Now, peel of some grapes and place it in the glass bowl
4. Wait for a period of 15-20 minutes.
5. You can observe that the grapes which have peel remain constant
on the top of the soda water and the grapes that don't have peel
fluctuate up and down.
The grapes with no peel fluctuate up and down which is just
because due to gravity, mass and density!
After performing the trick we spoke about World Water Day. We also
educated them on simple hack to save water. We advised that, we
need to do our bit to conserve water as it is one of the essential
components of life.
so the balloon gets a hole and pops. But if the balloon is filled with
water, the heat that the balloon rubber is gaining can dissipate into
the water inside, raising the temperature of the water and leaving
the rubber surface cool and undamaged. This is because water
transfers heat much more efficiently than air, and has a higher heat
capacity (how much heat is needed to raise its temperature).
EQUIPMENT:
o Beaker or a household glass
o Candles with a floatable base
o Lighter or matches
o Pie pan or a plate(s) approximately 12” in diameter and ½”
deep
o Water
EXPLANATION:
Fill a plate with water about a ¼” deep. Light the candle and set it in
the middle of the plate
When the burning candle is covered with the beaker, the flame
eventually goes out because it uses up all the oxygen. Fire needs
oxygen to burn. The other gas left behind has less pressure
compared to air. Remember that when the candle burns the oxygen
