TEST RESULTS IN TLE GRADE 10

S.Y. 2018-2019

FIRST GRADING PERIOD

A. INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS

From the six (6) courses who submitted their test results for the first grading in Grade 10, it is noted that
the Technical Drafting Class of Mr. Robert Bautista combined, got the highest MPS with 78.28. The most
learned competencies are: Operating CAD Software and computer hardware, Developing and
strengthening PEC’s needed in Technical Drafting, and Selecting a business idea based on the criteria
and techniques set. The teacher attributed this due to the result of the item analysis in the first
quarterly exam.

On the other hand, the course with the lowest MPS is the Handicrafts Class of Mrs. May Joie Alcaraz
combined, with 48.26. The most learned competencies are: identifying the parts of the sewing machine,
identifying the elements of design, explaining the characteristics of fabric, identifying personal
entrepreneurial skill and identifying the principles of design. The teacher reports that the students’ had
very poor attendance for the entire first quarter and that they enrolled in the Handicraft course in the
first week of July. The Handicrafts course was chosen by most of the students for the reason that they
had no other choice for a specialization, and most of them don’t have any idea what the course is all
about. Most of the students are coming from the last four sections of Grade 10; and also there were
irregularities with the class schedule due to school activities and class suspensions for the first quarter,
therefore affecting their academic performance for the entire period.

B. RECOMMENDATION/ SUGGESTED INTERVENTION

The teacher who got the lowest MPS has decided on setting stricter rules for the Grade 10 Handicrafts
students when it comes to attendance and tardiness that will greatly affect their performance if they
do not attend regularly or they come in late. Also the teacher will set time for those who need
remedial lessons and makeup classes if the students will willingly attend once a schedule is set. This
will be able to win the purpose of effectively passing the skills to the students in able to see that the
course has been effectively taught to the learners. The teacher should make the activities more
interesting to be able to develop the students’ interest and love for the course.
