12) Prepare the data store for sending / receiving data as follows.
Connect the RS-232C cable to the connector marked with "NC" on the name
plate.
Check if the setting of the communication parameters, including the baudrate
and the stop bit, at the data store (F-30) is as specified below.
The following are standard settings. After matching the parameter settings
between the data store and the machine, place them in the transfer standby
state.
The extensions for the ladder diagrams include ∗.DAT and ∗.MNT, and those for
the messages include ∗.MES and ∗.MNT.

requires changing the extension to ∗.MNT.
NOTE 2: Loading of files with the extensions ∗.MES and ∗.MNT requires
different settings of the parameters for the data store. Refer to the
above standard settings of the parameters.

displayed.
Therefore, if files have been created for programs, etc. on external devices such
as a personal computer and the files are to be transferred using the memory
card, use the extensions corresponding to the files as indicated below.
Otherwise, the file names will not be displayed, disabling the input operation.

TROUBLESHOOTING (Z1: MITSUBISHI NC)
I74115A01E
The TV-300 and TV-400 series (MSC-802) use the MITSUBISHI NC with a
different configuration of the screens from that of the FANUC NC.
Different parameters such as SERVO and PC parameters are set on different
screens. Therefore, the screen appropriate for the parameters to be set needs to be
displayed.
Failure to perform the following operations prevents the screens from being
displayed to protect the setting from operational errors.
Different screens need to be displayed for different parameter # to be set. Also, the
parameter # to be set needs to be displayed using the page selection key with the
corresponding screen displayed, for lack of the parameter # search function.
Parameter setting items are classified as follows.
- BASE #1001 to #1999
- AXIS #2001 to #2119
- SERVO #2201 to #2999
- SPINDLE #3001 to #3999
- MC-ERR #4001 to #5124
- PLC #6000 to #6496
#6000 to #6015 10 msec timer
#6010 to #6095 100 msec timer
#6096 to #6103 100 msec timer
#6200 to #6223 Counter
#6301 to #6348 Data table
#6401 to #6496 PLC parameters
- MACRO #7001 to #7313
- PSW #7501 to #7573
- PROCESS #8001 to #8306
- I/O PAR #9001 to #9530
Normally, only "PROCESS" and "I/O PAR" are displayed. To display other items,
display the OPEN SETUP PARAM screen and press the Y key and the INPUT
key, as described in the next item.

Z1 - 9. MITSUBISHI NC ADDRESSES
Since addresses are categorized into bit-unit and byte-unit addresses, there is no bit
address such as R104.0, which is used with FANUC.
(For example, while address "R" can be in either bits or bytes for FANUC, it can
only be in bytes for the MITSUBISHI. Therefore, it is necessary to copy data from
byte-unit address "R" to a bit-unit address to check which bit of address "R" is ON
in the sequence. On the PLC-I/F screen, data in addresses is displayed in 16 bits.)
The addresses of the MITSUBISHI NC are compared with those of the FANUC NC
below.

The ladder diagram is often referred to in order to check the status of the machine
when trouble occurs or when performing maintenance.
The PLC-I/F screen is available for the MITSUBISHI NC, as well as the FANUC
NC.
Characteristics of each type of address are described below.
2) Key in an address to be checked in the device field, and press the INPUT key.
The screen has two DEVICE fields. Keying in two addresses in these DEVICE
fields allows these addresses to be checked simultaneously.
3) If a bit device is selected, 8 points including the address keyed in are displayed
on the first line.
The address displayed in the leftmost position is the address of bit 0. The
address keyed in is in the corresponding bit, with the bits arranged in the
ascending order from the right.
If a byte device is selected, 16 bits are split on two lines, with the high-order
and low-order bits displayed on the upper and lower lines, respectively.

TROUBLESHOOTING (Z1: MITSUBISHI NC)
I74115A01E
For example, the PLC-I/F screen is shown below when "X14" and "Y2E" are
entered in the left and right DEVICE fields, respectively.
"X14" is in bit 4 on the line with the leading address "X10", and "Y2E" is in bit 6
on the line with the leading address "Y28".
Z1 (31/36)
TROUBLESHOOTING (Z1: MITSUBISHI NC)
I74115A01E
High-order bits "8" to "F" and low-order bits "0" to "7" are displayed on the
upper and lower lines for R156, respectively.
The preset and present values of counter No. 1 are "25" and "1", respectively.

TROUBLESHOOTING (Z1: MITSUBISHI NC)
I74115A01E
As shown above, the ladder diagram can be called out in two modes: the search
mode in which searching for the desired address is possible and the setting mode in
which continuous circuit blocks can be monitored.
In the search mode, specified circuit blocks that are not continuous can be displayed
block by block on one screen.
For example, how the ladder diagram is used when "M895" does not turn on.
The diagram indicates that "M804" needs to turn on for "M895" to turn on, and that
"X133" needs to turn on for "M804" to turn on.
In the setting mode, key in a contact number to display the ladder diagram. To

the present value is automatically displayed.
