 Surface of lesion is covered by stratified squamous
epithelium may show mild to moderate acanthosis and
generalised keratinisation.
 Mature fibrous connective tissue showing variable
cellularity and vascularity.
 Fibroblasts are mature and widely scattered throughout
the lesion.
Highly collagenous and relatively avascular
