REVISION PLAN 5TH GRADE

1ST CLASS

1. A/AN + COUNTABLE /UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS


- Quick revision of the indefinite article and of the countable/uncountable nouns + examples.

ACTIVITIES
1. Card Game: T shows SS cards, one at the time, of different objects and SS must put the
indefinite article in front of them.
Ex. An owl, a computer etc. (Alphabet cards)

2. Arrange the following nouns into 2 columns: oil, egg, coffee, water, cup, desk, potato, cherry,
tea, sheep, meat, bottle, soup, chocolate, table, bread, apple, wood, money, flower.
Countable nouns Uncountable nouns
Egg Oil

2. How much …are/is there? / How many … are/is there? Not much, not many, a lot.
- Quick revision of the quantifiers.

ACTIVITY - PW Worksheet 25(Elementary Grammar Games)


Cupboard pictures: student A gets a card and student B gets another card, different from A’s.
They ask each other question using How much/many?

Ex. S1: How many apples are there in you cupboard?


S2: Not many. How many apples are there in you cupboard?
S1: A lot. etc.

3. TO BE – PRESENT (+, -, ?)
- Quick revision of the verb BE in the present.

ACTIVITIES
1. Guess game (a pile of job cards on desk) T chooses a S. who comes in front of the class,
picks a card with a job on it. The student have to mime his/her job. The other SS ask questions.
Ex. S1: mimes she is a nurse.
S2: Are you a doctor?
S1: No, I’m not.
S3: Are you a nurse?
S1: Yes, I am.

2ND CLASS

THERE IS THERE ARE – construction


- quick revision of the construction (+, -, ?)

ACTIVITY PW - Memory Game (2) – (Play Games with English)


In pairs, students have a look at a picture of a suitcase and then, after they have covered the
picture, they have to write as many sentences about the objects in the suitcase using there is/are
construction.

HAVE/HAS GOT - construction


- quick revision of colours with pencils, coloured objects, etc.
- quick revision of adjectives: long, short, young, old, tall, short, big, small, fat, thin (miming)
- quick revision of have/ has got construction.

ACTIVITIES
1. Guessing game: One student comes in front and describes one of his/her colleague without
saying who that is. The other students have to guess.
Ex. S1: She has got blue eyes. She has got long hair. She has got black hair…..

2. PW - Family cards (worksheet 15 Elementary Grammar Games)


Students, in pairs, get a family card and a set of pets. Asking each other question they have to
find out what pet does each member of the other student’s family got.
Ex. S1: Has your uncle Peter got a goldfish?
S2: No, he hasn’t.

3RD CLASS

1. POSSESSIVE ’S, POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES & POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS


- Quick revision of the possessive adjectives and pronouns.
- Quick revision of the possessive ’s.

ACTIVITY - PW – ex 24 (Round Up 2)
Fill in with possessive ’s; your/yours; her/hers; my/mine; our/ours; his/his; their/theirs.
Pairs are made. T. gives each pair the worksheet the SS have to make sentences as in the
example.

2. CAN – ABILITY
- quick revision of the verb (+, - ,?)

ACTIVITY (whole class) – Can you…? Cards


1. Card game: Students get each one card with an activity on it. They have to mingle, ask each
other questions with Can and answer with Yes, I can, if they can do that activity and with No, I
can’t, if they can’t.

2. Give situation: Jim Lawton had an accident. He broke his leg. What can he do now?
What can’t he do now? Use these verbs to make sentences about what he can / can’t do.
drive, work on his laptop, jump, read, watch TV, play football, ride his bike, swim, listen to
music, talk on the phone.
Ex. Jim can’t drive. Jim can work on his laptop.

4TH CLASS

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
- quick revision of the tense.

ACTIVITIES

1. Mime game: One student comes in front of the classroom and mimes an activity. The
students are asking questions in order to guess the activity.
Ex. S1 mimes dancing
S2: are you dancing?
S1: Yes, I am. Etc.

2. Yes / No questions: (Worksheet 29 – Elementary Grammar Games)


Groups of 4 are made. Each group is given a set of Lotto boards and a set of Lotto cards. The
1st student takes a card from the pile, and, without showing to the others, tells them tree things
aren’t happening in the picture.
Ex. S1: He isn’t dancing. He isn’t eating. He isn’t laughing.

The rest of the students ask questions to find if the card corresponds to one on their boards.
Ex. S2: Is he cooking? Is he writing? Is he driving?

If the student guesses he/she takes the card and places it on his/her lotto board. The student who
completes the board wins the game.

5TH CLASS

PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE


- Quick revision of the tense

ACTIVITIES

1. Card Game: How often do you …?


Groups are made. Each group gets a set of activity cards and a set of cards with adverbs of
frequency. One student picks a card and asks the student on his/her right how often he/she does
that activity. The student who answers, picks a card and so on. The game ends when all the
cards are done.
Ex. S1: How often do you play chess?
S2: I never play chess. How often do you play the guitar?
S3: I often play the guitar. Etc

1. Observation Game: PW – (Worksheet Observation 1 – Play Games with English 1)


Pairs are made. Each pair gets a worksheet. There is a picture of Nicola’s room. The students
must find out and write sentences about Nicola just by looking at her room. They must use
present simple tense.
Ex. She drives a car.
She studies science.
