Why a Teacher Development Workshop?

 Education is the key to changing the world for the better.


As a teacher, you are a valuable agent of change. How and what you
teach can inspire the young to make a different in the world but the
change must begin with you TEACHER.

Workshop Theme

The Teacher as Artist\Performer:

Exploring Powerful Theatre Techniques for Creative and Innovative


Classroom Teaching.

 If I were not an actor, I’d be a teacher. After all, teaching is very much like
performing. A teacher is an actor, in away. It takes a great deal to get, and hold a

What the workshop aims to achieve

 Energize the classroom teacher and empower her with top-notch theoretical
skills to make her more effective in the classroom.
 Inspire her to take a more creative approach to engage her students more
fully.

Modules

1. Tools of the Performer: Tools for the Teacher

Explore strengths and limitations and increase awareness of the body and
voice’s potential to express meaning, ideas, emotions, and stories.

2. Teaching with the body: Movement and Improvisation


This acting workshop for teachers will be focused on improvisation and
storytelling. The participants will rediscover, revitalize and strengthen their sense
of play.
3. The Crafts of the Storytelling for the Teacher
This workshop provides an overview of the building blocks of the story and how
the techniques of the story telling can be employed by teachers and instructors to
convey their lessons to their students.

Participative Approach

 The workshop will include a combination of mini lecture\demonstrate,


monitoring and coaching, active participation and discussion in a
supportive nurturing environment.
