PARTNERING FOR MIGRANTS'
RIGHTS

Area: Adjara, Imere , Samegrelo, Shida Kartli,
Kvemo Kartli
Goal: To join the effort to effec vely protect and
enhance the rights of current, poten al and
returned migrants by the Regional Civil Society
Network (R-CSN), government, businesses and
media through awareness raising and advocacy
ac vi es; to ensure sustainability of the process by
contribu ng to State led policies in the field of
migra on that are in line with relevant EU-Georgia
Agreements and other interna onal standards.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Address the occurrences of irregular
migra on in order to protect the rights of
the migrants from associated abuses, such
as human trafficking, and encourage legal
means of migra on, through capacity
building, consulta ons, and advocacy and
legal aid services in five regions of Georgia.
2. Promote the rights of migrants through
m o n i to r i n g o f i m p l e m e nta o n o f
Government's obliga ons in the field of
migra on in accordance to na onal
policies and EU-Georgia Agreements.
PLANNED ACTIVITIES:
 Enhance capacity of one staff member at
Embassies and/or Consulates of Georgia in EU
member States, in order to enable them to
provide comprehensive informa on /
consulta ons to the current migrants in the
respec ve countries;
 Support further development of State
informa on/consulta on services in the
Community Centers of the Ministry of Jus ce
of Georgia;
 Conduct basic trainings on migra on and visa-
free movement for the following target
groups: C S Os, local government
representa ves, regional media, and local
businesses;
 Suppor ng State ins tu ons' work with
communi es and prospec ve migrants in
Georgia:
o Provide informa on on the visa
liberaliza on process and visa-free
movement to the current migrants in EU
member States, in order to safeguard
their rights
o “First-steps of migrants” orienta on
mee ngs on municipal and village levels;
 Provide legal consulta ons/assistance to
exis ng, returned and poten al migrants in
EU and Russian Federa on;
 Encourage joint projects of businesses and
CSOs on awareness raising in the field of
migra on;
 Opera on of www.migrant.ge;
 To monitor the implementa on of State
Strategy and Ac on Plan on Migra on:
migra on related obliga ons in the EU-
Georgia Agreements, execu on of the State
budget for migra on related ac vi es by the
Government of Georgia;
 Based on the results of the monitoring
ac vi es, dra CSO monitoring report.
