Vocabulary Words: This Week’s Objectives

Please know spelling and definitions
of the words below:
anguish: suffering or pain
smother: to stifle or suffocate
Reading/Writing: We will begin reading our
core lit. book, “Esperanza Rising” in which
students will then practice building their ability to
read challenging text closely as relating it with
all we’ve learned about Human Rights.

considered unjust
scurried: to move quickly
valise: a small piece of luggage
immigration: the act of coming to a country of which
one is not native.
